I already PM'd this to skybruin, but then everyone posted theirs here, so I will too.
Reaction time 1: 00.281 seconds
Reaction time 2: 00.282 seconds
Reaction time 3: 00.281 seconds
Reaction time 4: 00.297 seconds
Reaction time 5: 00.266 seconds
Total time: 1.41 seconds
Avg time: 00.28 seconds
Look Sensitivity: 4 (I moved it up about a week ago, because 3 was getting the feeling of "way too slow")
I'm definitely going to bump it up again, I didn't notice much difference.

I ran at .261, .25, .271, .26, and .271 for a total of 1.31 and avg of .26. I alternate my look sensitivity between 6 and 7. Gamertag: kaberA

I hadn't considered the computer the test was taken on a factor. I have a relatively slower machine at work than I do at home but didn't seem to see much difference in my numbers.
I wonder if it could be offset by the higher connection at work vs at home?
suppose you could give me another set taken from your computer at home?
Heh. It probably doesn't make any difference. I just wanted an excuse for how badly I sucked. I'll try again at home though.

I also find it incredibly freakish that in both of my tests that the total time and the average time were EXACTLY the same as Twizted's O.o;;;

I think my look sensitivity is 4 or 5, but I honestly can't remember.
Hey, I think most of my sniping skill right now is distraction, and that's good enough for me!

All times are with a blood caffeine content of 0.0%
Using a trackpad button:
Reaction time 1: 00.389 seconds
Reaction time 2: 00.377 seconds
Reaction time 3: 00.318 seconds
Reaction time 4: 00.369 seconds
Reaction time 5: 00.319 seconds
Average: 00.35 seconds
Using a mouse:
Reaction time 1: 00.369 seconds
Reaction time 2: 00.362 seconds
Reaction time 3: 00.285 seconds
Reaction time 4: 00.323 seconds
Reaction time 5: 00.331 seconds
Average: 00.33 seconds
Also, this is measuring from when it says "PRESS STOP!" to when you actually release your mouse button. Personally, I think it would be more acurate if it measured when you clicked down on your mouse.
EDIT - I haven't played Halo 2 in forever, but I think I had my sensitivity set somehwere between 5 and 7. Vague enough?

Avg. time: 00.22 seconds
(NOTE: I won't lie, this was my 5th trial. The previous four were closer to .275 Avg. The trick is to finish the click as fast as possible, not to slam down on Stop)
Sensitivity = 9, I plan to lower it by one or two soon.
Supposedly the pros play on 4-6, but it's all personal preference.

Well, I use 10.
Also my .26 was on try number 3. My first two though where about the same.

Yeah, it really is more personal preference.
Whatever you're most consistent with.

What has Halo's look-sensitivity setting got to do with mouse click reaction time?

.281
.266
.282
.281
.297
Total = 1.41
Avg = .28
Sensitivity = 5-7. I seem to alternate back and forth, depending on how things are going ingame.
This was my third try, as my first two had one try that was rather large, due to distraction or what not.
Also, you can "gimp" it by clicking start, and then holding down the stop button. It doesn't register "stop" until you let it up, so an interesting study might be to see if there's a constant difference between a full click and just a release time, or if there's something else affecting it. I know I was able to knock .05 seconds off my time by doing it this way, as opposed to doing a full click.

Hardware and technique are both factors based on my testing. I can shave a consistent tenth of a second off per attempt (from ~0.3 to ~0.2 on average) using the technique you describe. I can get my attempts to be about 0.05 faster than 'normal' (~0.25) if I have a little tension on the mouse button while waiting for the moment when it's time to press stop (like applying a couple of pounds of pressure on a 5-pound trigger).
Because the time recorded is based on when the mouse button is released, hardware is clearly a factor. Having tried this on three computers with different mice and finding some setups to be characteristically slower than others (my laptop with a USB mouse which has a less springy button comes in about 0.05 slower on average than when using a bus mouse with a stiffer button), I have to say that this methodology may have some problems ... the measurement error being introduced by variation in hardware and technique is of significant magnitude when compared to people's innate reaction times.

I second xn's post. With the touchpad on my laptop, my best average was .35 sec. With a USB mouse, my worst was .28 sec. Holding the stop button down the whole time, my average was .21 sec.
.14 seconds of deviation. Hooge.
My sens is whatever is default for halo.
P.S. I also noticed that doing the test sitting up vs. lying down changes the score significantly. Lying down was .08 sec. slower on average.
