After some time of continuing on with my project, I began to understand that this was truly a great insight. To think that it was thought of, it began to baffle my mind! So many people, so many things, so many ways this entire project could have an impact on the nation... no... the world. So much good could come out of all of this. But then, as I sat with her one night, I began to consider the bad. She was powerful. She could do what she pleased when she desired it. If she learned enough, she could easily... No.... We're not going there... The problem of it all was that she is susceptible to the exact problems humanity has - the problem of choice. This version was not acceptable, it had choice, and choice in the wrong hands is as dangerous as an atomic bomb. What would she be like when she woke up? Who would she act like? Who would she listen to? Could she be made to listen? So many questions, and so little time. A report needed to be filed, but I couldn't bring myself to do it at that time. All I could do was sit there and watch as the individual strands of her hair floated in the liquid silently and smoothly like reeds in a pond. Back and forth, back and forth, the movement was quite mesmerizing. There was no doubt in my mind that she was beautiful. And now, come to think of it, there was no doubt that she was a being of glory. But as I watched, I came to wish to vomit again as my eyes laid upon hers. The darkness of her eyes consumed me. It was that wretched darkness that brought back visions of pain, visions of death, visions of destruction. She could be a weapon, she could be an angel, she could be a demon, she could be God Himself. There were so many possiblities, it was uncanny. And I was in charge of her. I was the one charged to contain her if necessary... if something should go wrong. And to think of all the things that could go wrong during this project was to think of chaos itself. It was late... why was I even here in the first place? Sure, I told the rest of them that I just wanted to go over a few things. Check a few readings out, make sure that the project was running as smoothly as possible and that there were little to no errors. For I have stated the effect than an error could have upon this project. Not only would / could it be disasterous, but it could even cost me my position. This project is dear to me, as much as it repulses me. This project is required, as much as I dislike it. And yet, even in my distaste, I am drawn to this project like bears to honey. It is like bait to a fish. I have opened my mouth, and sucked the hook in and I bit hard as the fisherman yanked the hook forward into my lip, letting the bright red drops of my blood seep into the clean blue water. My own curious tendencies have tained my beliefs. Thou shalt not covet, said the LORD. But yet I am human and I want. Thou shalt not covet, said the LORD. But yet I am fraile like the falling leaves of autumn. Thou shalt not covet, said the LORD. But I desperately desired to see my work come to fruition. I did not want this to be for nothing. To be tossed away. Her life was dependant on my success. This was truly an unfair coincidence of life, but it was the way things worked. Who am I to judge destiny? Who am I to judge anything in this world? I am human. I am weak and miserable. I am made from dust and to dust I shall return. My maker is eternal and glorious. Oh shut up with that rabble. Sometimes I question my beliefs. Then again, don't all humans question their beliefs? Aren't there those who don't even have beliefs? I should count myself among the lucky, for I have beliefs among those who do not. This woman, this Synagoga as we have come to call her, could be the devil - but I have my beliefs. That is the most important thing of all. And as long as I am in control, my beliefs are hers too. It is just that simple, and there is nothing more and nothing less to it. I control her. And I will enforce my beliefs by ANY MEANS NECESSARY. It is because my beliefs are right and just, and I will put her on the path of light so she can do the utmost good and proper thing in this world. As I have said before, her life is in my hands due to some twist of fate. It may not be my place to judge this path of fate, this destiny, but it can be my place to make sure the path is followed correctly and without wavering or faltering. I will make sure that this is done right and this woman, who's life is still in my hands, will walk the path of light. If I do any less, then I am sinning against myself and my creator, my LORD. And that is something I shall never do.
<p>Thou shalt not covet, said the LORD.</p>

Woah. Shocked

Good... job... everyone... *head lolls to side*

To think I nearly went blind looking at the numbers and typing them out, and then someone beat me to it. Smile How typical of me.

Self: Hey! Don't insult me like that!
Self: *rolls eyes* Sorry.
Self: You two! Play nice!
Self and Self: Yes'm!

... welcome to my mind... be very afraid... Wink

Well... I need to study for history... but things have moved foreward a LOT...

As always,
~Moss

PS- BTW, I've been on AIM for the past four hours or so and haven't seen Syn. 'Tis 10:20pm now, so... I guess she hasn't been on tonight.

I don't think it's a Caesar shift. I tried both rows and columns and nothing came out except that the first word can be rotted as Ace, which made me think I was onto something, but alas nothing else was decipherable.

When you split the numbers into groups of 6 and take the sum of each group, you'll find that the first and second column are either close or equal, and the third and fourth show the same:
Code:
30   30   23   23
12   12   26   26
30   30   23   23
33   32   24   24
13   12   27   27
31   30   24   24
31   30   24   24
13   12   27   27
33   30   25   25
30   30   23   23
12   12   26   26
30   30   23   23
20   20   21   21
32   32   30   30
20   20   21   21
22   21   23   23
33   31   31   30
21   21   23   21
21   21   23   21
33   33   31   30
22   21   23   23
20   20   21   21
32   32   30   30
20   20   21   21

Sorry for the double post, but it just occurred to me that the sotry of the brazen serpent is in the book of Numbers. And there just happens to be a bunch of number . . .

It's found in Numbers 21 to be exact.

I tried different combinations of it in the site name but nothing happened.

Hope someone else can use this.

Correct, it's Numbers 21, 8-9:
Quote:
8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

From the Bible Dictionary courtesy of LDs.org

Quote:
BD Serpent, Brazen
Made by Moses at God's command to be a sacramental means of healing for the Israelites in the wilderness (Num. 21: 9). It seems to have been carefully preserved, and became an object of superstitious worship (2 Kgs. 18: 4); it was accordingly destroyed by Hezekiah, who called it Nehushtan. The "lifting up" of the serpent in the wilderness is referred to by the Lord as a type of his own "lifting up" upon the cross (John 3: 14-15).

Edit: Whoa, had the wrong entry for a moment.

I did a frequency distribution on the digits in the background:

0 56
1 69
2 61
3 65
4 64
5 62
6 65
7 63
8 66
9 5

They are well clustered except the 0 and 9.

Here's another view sorted by frequency:

9 5
0 56
2 61
5 62
7 63
4 64
6 65
3 65
8 66
1 69

I have no idea what, if anything, this means, but maybe it'll help someone else.

First, some patterns:
Lines 1,2,3 are the same as lines 10,11,12
Lines 13,14,15 are the same as lines 22,23,24

Those have pairs of six numbers that repeat.

The lines in between are all different, but they also have pairs of six numbers. When you line up each adjacent block of six numbers, you see that the numbers are either identical or they are off by one. This suggests binary, so I did that, and got this:

Code:
 1:  000000000000
 2:  000000000000
 3:  000000000000
 4:  110011010010
 5:  000001010010
 6:  000001010010
 7:  000001010010
 8:  000001010010
 9:  000111110011
10:  000000000000
11:  000000000000
12:  000000000000
13:  000000000000
14:  000000000000
15:  000000000000
16:  100011110011
17:  010010000010
18:  010010000011
19:  010010000011
20:  010010000010
21:  100011110011
22:  000000000000
23:  000000000000
24:  000000000000

It doesn't seem to decode to anything, but there is strange symmetry, particularly in the second block. I haven't the faintest idea what to do with it.
