I thought I would have a fresh look at the 24 digit number on the postcard.

I have read through the thread and dont remember this beign tried,
I took the 24 digit numeric

221545484848465100503215

and converted it to binary

0011001000110010001100010011010100110100001
1010100110100001110000011010000111000001101
0000111000001101000011011000110101001100010
0110000001100000011010100110000001100110011
001000110001001101010000110100001010

I then coloured the 1 digits in with a colour and tried resizing the screen to see if any thing could be seen, have tried using word pad and word, best sort of fitting graphic i have found is this, probably going nuts, but are there letters there? See screenshot

Dunno if anyone tried this or can think of an improvement to this "Heath-Robinson"

Just an idea, thought i would share it.

Ehhhhh!?

You're totally right; it looks like these are letters!

Though they don't seem very significant: either BFE or BFG (Doom video game reference) or KFE or KFG. The only letter that is certain is the F (if these are really letters)

I'd guess it to be conincidental, but it's a pretty big coincidence.

It's an interesting idea. I just tried it myself. There are several different ways that you can set it out that make it look like patterns almost appear, but nothing that jumps out.

Also, as has been discussed, there are many ways to convert this number into binary.

Personally, I think that this solve method is too convoluted and subject to interpretation (like my binary to morse code method) to be correct.

Still, it's a refreshing way of looking at the problem. After all that has been tried, it's nice to know that people are still coming up with interesting new ideas.

Haven't been checking in too much, until I got that e-mail. I'm still wondering if anyone has an extra postcard they could be enticed to part with. PM me.

IF you break the binary into strings of 8 digits, they all start with 0011 (ok, except for the last two, but still). And 8 digit binary strings is exactly what the building in the postcard painting had. So now what?

Binary sequence

Wow, I have been trying to read this entire forum (all sections/threads!) to make sure what was covered or not, since I have been intrigued by this for some time.

First post, hope to stick with this..

I found an interesting correlation between some number sequences..

Genetix showed:

Quote:
I have read through the thread and dont remember this beign tried,
I took the 24 digit numeric

221545484848465100503215

and converted it to binary

0011001000110010001100010011010100110100001
1010100110100001110000011010000111000001101
0000111000001101000011011000110101001100010
0110000001100000011010100110000001100110011
001000110001001101010000110100001010

I went to http://www.adcott.net/binary/ to convert 221545484848465100503215 myself. The numbers were sequenced in 8-character groups:

00110010 00110010 00110001 00110101 00110100 00110101 00110100 00111000 00110100 00111000 00110100 00111000 00110100 00110110 00110101 00110001 00110000 00110000 00110101 00110000 00110011 00110010 00110001 00110101

24 groups. I then took the last digit in each group to get a new sequence
00110010 00110010 00110001

This then converts to

221, which is the original 3 digits in the sequence, or 2210 without the 0

I have seen other posts regarding usage of 12/24 (Gatehouses) to suggest a time code, but not coming back to 221 as a strong clue like this..
Or am I missing an obvious reason for the 221 to recur like this?

BINARY

I'm not expert, but I believe the reason for this pattern is that the decimal number: 221545484848465100503215 has not really been converted into binary.

What has happened it that the individual ASCII characters have been converted into their binary assignations. That would create the pattern you observe.

For instance, in ASCII, the typed CHARACTER "2" would be 00110010 in BINARY

However, the NUMBER 2 in BINARY would be "10"

As I said, there are many ways of translating the 24 digit number into binary. Converting the number itself into binary rather than converting the ASCII characters into binary produces this (thanks to Anthrax for doing the conversion). This was posted on page 10 of this thread along with other base conversions.

101110111010100000000100111010011111110110010011000000001110010111100010101111

Have we tried converting it to hex?
