err lots of peeps suspect Perlpexcity is either a fan fixing USA Todays messup, or someone playing little tricks. The images seem to be stock art anyway.

PERLPLEX was indeed a typo

Ahh...I get it, now. Something struck me as strange about it, but I never even noticed. Clever!

Right area, wrong route.

The video is a trip down Yasukuni-dori, a 24 hour shopping district in Higashi Shinjuku, which is oddly enough right near a red light district, Kabukicho. (Here's the Googlism for Kabukicho.)

As evidence, I will mention second 51 of the video, where on the right side one can make out "Don Quixote" or Katakana-ized "Don Kihoote" which is like a Japanese half-price department store.

Let's go to their website and store search their Shinjuku Higashi-guchi location. You'll see the picture, but it's tiny. Also of note, not all the locations look the same if you want to browse them.

Seeing as Don Quixote is one of the most wildly popular places among foreigners for whatever reason, it wasn't hard to find a larger picture of the same location. (Scroll back a couple pictures in the gallery to see more familiar views.)

Compare it to the video and you'll see it's the same.

For fun, let's toss in a couple of maps: One and Two.

My guess is the trip starts by the T-Zone and ends around the Don Quixote.

Of course none of this really gets us anywhere in my estimation...

Awesome, thanks. I hate to keep bringing this up, but...anyone remember which bit of Tokyo Cayce Pollard was wandering around in? Kabukicho sounds really familiar, but I sort of gave the book back, and I'm not sure.

She leaves Narita and heads to Shinjuki Station to get a cab for her hotel, and...the bar she meet's 'keiko's' online friend is in Roppongi.

Two things that I noticed:

1) the text is now all upper-case

2) the position of the 8th MARCH LA TIMES has been bumped up one position.

with the change in the file the size has increased from 3138 kb
to 3295 kb
the time of the files remains the same

and if you compare the oroginal to the new video

for anyone that may not have noted this yet

the la times march 8th date was moved one blank space ahead
when the toroto date was added

if anyone wants it i have the videos overlayed in one file

and has anyone considered the siginfigance of why the web site is upside down ?

I expect that's just the compression. A plain black screen would compress more than a black screen with white text on it.

I don't think they would give us all the dates, maybe we have to work out when the next clue will appear & also try to figure out which paper it will be in, or failing that, just search all the majour newspapers.

So then...following the order of the dates, is it safe to assume that the next date will be March 1?

The order breaks after that though, unless I have completely counted wrong Embarassed

I doubt it's anything as arcane as that. I think it's more likey "them" getting confirmation from the newspapers about publishing dates and whether or not they've managed to secure advertising space or not. Then the update the video accordingly.

I think that they will give us any relevant dates, so searching major newspapers for additional ads will be futile. The fact that they just added more dates/papers to the movie shows that eventually all the blanks will probably be filled in.

or they may just be teasing us pulling the carrot again

sinse i don't think you could reserve space in a wanted ad a month in adavnce
