When I type in www.perplexity.com it now auto-redirects me to www.perplexcity.com

Seems like they must be having a lot of trouble with typos.

People, yes, we're all glad that you've picked up a copy of the Times as I suspect a lot of people have, but the image has been posted and need only be posted once. Otherwise you're just creating hundreds of junk posts which make these threads spiral into the dozens of pages pointlessly.

Has anyone considered that the "it" they're talking about is not the cube when they say "Able to trace it..."

Maybe even that that sentence should be read "The Cube is able to trace it without any difficulty wherever it may be"? which is just a simple permutation of the ad text.

Second possibility. Sente isn't even talking about the cube when he says he can trace it.

I think someone did. Twisted Evil

Edit:

I was thinking that perhaps they can trace where the cube entered our world or something like that. Maybe they can trace Sarah's team that was so culture shocked by us (if it's still in this world). Or even something more sinister.

Or they know it's in our world because they can't trace it. Like they can find it anywhere in their world, but now they can't find it.

The Trout ad has got me suspicious. Its a bit 'behind the curtain' for my liking - however, this is my first ARG, so it may not be as out of character as it seems - the vets amongst you may have opinions on this.
2 theories, then...
1) It's a nod to the people who have been here since the early days, saying 'I know we're not telling you anything new, but just hold on for now'.
2) It wasn't the PMs who placed it. We've had enough time since the vids for people to place ads in the relevant papers on the relevant days. Not sure who would, and why though...

The other thing is, if there were two ads in that days paper, does that suggest we may have missed an ad in the first paper? I've got today's Times, and will scour it later when I get a chance.

I think the way these ads are going to work out is just like the error log, where the ads are in no particular order when they are published, but there mosy be some pattern between the dates of publish that we can use to order the clippings in the right sequence to make it readable...

however, I am not sure how the New York Sun's thing will fit it, because it was delayed by one day, (unless the PMs knew this would happen beforehand, and it being published on the 23rd fits in with the sequence)...

I'd guess not. The video has been updated with additional dates as we've gone along. So, it would not have been particularly unusual for them to update it to represent the actual publication date. Since they didn't, I'd have to assume that the dates in the video have some important meaning. Perhaps, once we get the entire message, and have assembled it in order, the dates will be decodable as a key phrase or password?

Of course, if around half of the ads end up being published on a different day than we were led to expect, then that might be a communication of its own!

Or it could be both, I guess!

Gee, Spec IS fun!

I'm certainly going to remember "when." Suspiciously worded, that ad.

So far, we know that "The Cube is not only an object of great significance to the city but also a technological wonder."

That's it. Let's just be patient. Smile

Yes, I had been wondering much the same thing. It's very strange that there are two ads in one paper, and the Trout one just doesn't seem to fit with anything we've had so far. All very weird. Maybe it's the same person that did perlplexcity.com and put the cube on ebay Wink If it is, they better start building their underground shelter now!

You didn't have a good laugh about the trout ad Fi³? Yeh, me neither.

Okay, maybe a little one.

Edit:

Alex- That ad above the PPC ad jumped out at me a bit too as worded a bit strange like. Could be simply because the Times charges their ad space per word though and the people placing the ad are really stingy, hense making their sentances really wonky. Strange still though.
