Haha! When I think "Eat Glycern" I hear that. When I think "leave this earth" I can also hear that! Wonderful little clip you have there!

I heard whatever I wanted to hear, ranging from Eat Dessert, Eat this earth, leave glycerin...whatever...
If it was definitely a clue, it would sound a lot better, and it would have been more positively soundworthy...i guess is the word...

Not necessarily. For those of you who played Lockjaw, there was this one truly evil puzzle, and one of the MAJOr clues a a tiny white dot.
For a good giggle, read about it, the unholy WHERE.GIF.

It was a good idea, because backtracking? (i forgot the word) is a very clever way of doing things...but it's often hard to get everyone to hear the same thing (Stairway to Heaven...some people hear demonic messages...others just hear the song in reverse...)

I get the feeling the video is just to gain the interest of the random passer by... as in, somebody looks in the newspaper, spots the ad, goes to the website and then finds the video. It doesn't seem to have any real clues to anything but the newspapers. And the black screens seem to just be empty spaces to place more newspapers should they seek out more advertising.

About the hidden messages when the audio is played backwards:
I nabbed the audio with Premiere and gave it some hi-res upgrades (made it easier to hear) and exported it. Then I plugged it into Acid Pro and played with playing it backwards... got nothing. *poop*
Not to say there isn't anything, but I didn't find anything.
Tony:
Actually I noticed the musical theme as well, which is exactly why I'm looking for the source of the music. Was it picked for a reason (other than just being kind cool sounding) or what? Either way, it is strange.
I've given up on finding hidden messages in the video, now I'm focusing on the audio.
It seems far too obvious... it's exactly what he would expect us to do, don't you think?

Read "The Purloined Letter" someday about obvious clues
There is simply no telling what the style is going to be. From what little we see, its going to be deep and rough and some easy ones may be thrown to confuse us even more.
Basically, it looks like we are in for one HECK OF A RIDE

Yarg! I can't get the notes to sound right. The echo is really messing with my brain me thinks.
Sorry Tony, haven't been able to find anything so far, but I haven't given up. Just figured I'd give you a progress report. It's really taking longer then I thought it would. I'm finding strange little audio artifacts when I mess with the frequency and modulation in Acid Pro. Could be artifacts from giving it the echo... dunno.
If someone could split the vocal from the musical, I'd love them in ways that are quite possibly illegal in Texas.

are you the one trying to match the sound of it with the notes?
I think that is a great idea!
I don't know how to split it, but if you can think of any other way i can help, tell me, and i'll see what i can do.

I've tried, but that echo makes it damn near impossible.

So I'm running the .mp3 stream from the video through an MP3steno tool and I start getting .tmp outputs, which I open in wordpad. For each different passcode the characters are different, but the format is always the same.
The returned .tmp's mean the decoder is seeing something.
Maybe the audio codec isn't natively .mp3, and that's where my problem lies. I'm not nearly comfortable enough with this sort of things to truly find something, but it seems as though there may be something there.
