[SPEC]tacular! ;) General Speculation (wildness may ensue) I don't know where to post this. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place. I think i know where this whole thing is going but i don't want to say. If i post in a thread I don't want to upset anyone and be marked for taking out. Is there anywhere where end spec is likely to be discussed so that I don't explode or shall I keep it all to myself and see if I was correct? Thanks. Apologies in advance.
[Edit - I've started this thread entirely for spec, and moved the related messages over. Fi]

We're all in the same boat here, if you have any spec feel free to share it with the rest of us

re: i think i know I was referring to the purpose of the game, backed by whatever corporation, the end result, if you get my drift? I just don't want to go and spoil anyones fun by specuating about the end before we've barely started. I presume then there is no thread for this purpose?

There's the "[META] What's the hook? " thread, which discusses who is backing it, you might want to take a look at that and see if what you have fits there.

I don't see any reason not to make whatever speculation you want; if you really think you're going to uncover something sooper-sekrit-y, just spolerize it

[SPEC]tacular! ;) I've seen various posts in other threads about where to post it spec, so I've opened up this for entirely that purpose. If, however, your spec fits better in another thread (eg. What's the hook), then please post it there instead.
But for now, feel free to post the wildest and craziest predictions you can think of

Well to get the ball rolling, here's what I think;
The Cube isn't actually a cube at all as we think of it - Perplex City is in a parallel universe and the place where their universe and ours branched (i.e. the only difference between their universe and ours) was in naming 3 dimensional objects. Specifically, cubes. What we think is a cube is what they call a sphere and vice versa.
So what sphere are we looking for? Obviously it's one of those glowing lightning-ball thingys with the gas inside them that you can put your hands on and watch the patterns. They're pretty, and it's so time for a 90's revival

My Science Project - An extremely underrated movie, buried under the success of Weird Science. Could this be a game based on that?
We can only hope so!

I'm of the opinion that the development of atomic bombs and specifically, their use in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, were the catalysts of the schism between Sente-Earth and MikeyJ

-Earth (as I like to think of it). These were the events that they took a different lesson from and led to Zeller's development of the cube, a device of cosmic peace.
I quite like the idea that it changes colour as well. Don't Mathmos sell them?
And it makes popcorn laced with anti-aggression drugs. I Like popcorn.
And Sente's a woman with voice-over skills that could only have been learnt by a long stint at RADA and an apprenticeship as the voice of a computer on one of the StarTreks.

Personally I think Sente is evil. The person who has the cube at the moment is the good guy. Sente is the bad guy. Sente needs the cube to carry out his evil master plan and the guy who has the cube atm is hiding it to prevent Sente using it. As Sente can't actually come to our world we have to get the cube back.
The adverts in the newspapers that say security systems were by passed etc is because it was an inside job and that the whole of PPC is plotting against the evil overlord sente

To take both of your spec, put them in a room, and birth a mutated and shunned child from them:
Sente is evil, and the person working against him is none other than Sarah and the team she put together to get those shoes she really enjoyed. Also, I don't think the cube is some element of all encompassing peace, seeing as Zeller got offed/offed himself/offed naturally while working on or soon after finishing the cube.
<humor>
I once knew a guy who knew a guy who's cousin's friends brother was killed by a Rubix Cube... think about that.

I think Sarah Covington is carrying Sente's illegitamate love child and when she gives birth to it their world will end due to Sente's evil powers

That would be one of the better twists in an ARG if Sente turned out to be the antagonist.
Personally, I don't really have much to go on, so I don't have much wild spec right now, but I think the Cube might be the device they use to observe/transport themselves between worlds/dimensions. This would explain how it ended up here, and why Sente can't follow to find it himself.
