Please help! I stumbled in here, not knowing anything about what is going on. Then, I found something, something that shocked me to my core. August 23rd. What does it mean? Anything? Nothing? Someone please help me, because I used to have a recurring dream of this date, I had it for years and it signaled a horror to great to fully comprehend.

Hmm.
If you're trying to launch an ARG, this would probably be better placed in the "News & Rumors" forum.
However, PMs launching their games by posting on the forum is frowned upon , so perhaps you would be best off private messaging one of the forum admins (SpaceBass, vpisteve, jamesi, Gupfee, Bill, and ScarpeGrosse) and asking them to do it for you.

I'm naive enough to think this is an honest question. I don't know how this person just happened to stumble into a place like this, but they did take the time to register before posting. (Someday we'll have an instructional video for new members.)
Anyway, August 23rd, 2004 was a trigger date in a game which has already concluded. You may safely return to your slumbers.

LOL -- You know you've been hanging around Unfiction too long when someone posts about a nightmare and you think it's a rabbithole....

I'm glad to hear it was for a game, and I'm sorry for the confusion. When I saw that date I just felt a bolt go through me, because I had convinced myself that the dream was nothing more, and I hope so.

My dream is a topless barbershop, staffed by swimsuit models, with free beer and satellite TV. I would totally get my hair cut at least once a week there.

Heh, that's odd.
My dream is a spa staffed by buff and nearly naked South American guys, with free strawberry daquiris and satellite TV. I was thinking I'd totally go for a hot stone massage at least once a week.
Curious symmetry.
