Email from Lombartech

*A couple of days ago I got an email from Lombartech Human Resources. (I had been away and just read the message.)

They replied to an earlier email I sent asking if they could help me reach Victoria. They said they had no record of her as an employee and couldn't give me any contact information. At least I got an individualized -not automated- response, which means someone is checking the email.

Has anyone else heard from them? Maybe we need to check the site for updates again?

* I found some additional screenshots at a site that was posted on the still-life forums :

http://www.dreamcatcherinteractive.com/tac/still_life/

* Also, according to the still-life forums a game demo will be released on March 1st, perhaps that is when the ARG will go live? The counter counting down to the demo release is on the main page

http://stilllife-game.com/

* The elite client log-in seems to still be disabled. At least we already know the name of some possible elite clients : Mircroids, FBI, Labryinth.

I did a very cursory examination of the LombarTech site. It was laggy today, but otherwise I discovered nothing.

Any word on the game demo?

Good work on the demo. You can check out page 4 for a compiled list of typos that we've found. AFAIK, nobody was able to make sense out of it.

Actually, it might be cool to go back and see if any of them have been fixed yet....

Patrick, the "Site Admin" over at the Still Life forums made an interesting post yesterday:
Quote:
Well, since we've been with Lombartech for our security, we've been trained by some of the best people I've seen in security. I had to do some tests on some of their software and APIs for me to use when I make the Microids and MC2 websites along with IIS. You really should see these people! I doubt Cisco and MSC are actually better!

There's still alot of people to train at Microids though, to make sure we don't get our games hacked, like GTA and Half-Life II. Sure our games might not be such high-profile as those, but we DO make the best Adventure games out there Wink Other than the training the staff here, I know they got a bunch of other contracts with other companies, it took a while before they formed me Razz So I have no clue when they'll start the registration process, but I guess they should be putting up their registration on the website eventually. Maybe just wait it out? One thing's for sure, they're definitely worth it!

Alright, Im with ItWasntMeISwear in the fact that this is my first ARG. I found out about the genre through the slumberil site as a Beta tester for the matrix online. I wanted to start an emerging ARG so I could work the game from the beggining with everyone, so I decided this would be a great one to start on. I've read through the thread here and read up on ARG games and ways to solve these types of puzzles as well.

It still seems that the site has not gone live yet. Still no login pages avaliable. I have sent an email to the public relations department, about five days ago. I said I was a reporter for a local university and was interested in doing an article on their company and its products, but I have yet to recieve a response.

A question about emailing as part of the game. Some have already sent ficticious CVs out. I was wondering if it necissary to use different email adresses for contacting different departments. Do they actually go that far in not sending different responses to the same address? Can I send a CV from the same email as I did for my interview request?

I guess Im just wondering how far they go in making you be sneaky in your methods of extracting info.
Well I look forward to playing this one with you all.

ok someone tried to google The labrynth foundation and came up with
http://www.srlabyrinthfoundation.com/
which doesnt appear to be in game.

I tried http://www.labyrinthfoundation.com/ and found

Quote:
The Labyrinth Foundation website is currently under renovation. We expect to be able to premiere our new web presence by April 15th, 2005.

Coincidentally close to the original release date of the game (April 14th)

The HTML didnt show anything unusual. This may be nothing, but I figure it was worth a shot. Perhaps Destegging the image on that site may provide some clues. I gave it a shot, but Im new to this and didnt come up with anything. Someone wanna give it a go?

Its probably OOG, but I figured it might be worth a try.

Just as an addendum, the labyrinthfoundation.com site did not exist when the Lombartech site was first spotted.

Also, to continue the theme of weird typos, the picture name is 'labitynth.jpg'.
