you are refering to the 'Doppler Redshift'

simply put: if the light source (lets say lamp) is moving away from you, then its wavelength is stretched- it become more red and less blue.

now there are other Redshifts-

Cosmological Redshift- basically because space is expanding, as the light wave travels from the source (lets say star) to you, it becomes more red in colour (same reason as above, the light source is moving away, space is moving away)

Gravitational RedShift- if i havn't lost you by now, well google and find out Wink

whether it could appy, whoe knoweth. the cube could be related to physics and astrophysics. if it is woo, cos im studying those atm. otherwise, perhaps the signature is spiffy, and only for spiffy purposes. but keep in mind, redshift- light source moving away. which you already knew Twisted Evil

 		He seems to have changed his pen to do the dot though...you would expect it to get more red, but it's black.

 		To me, that indicates that only the actual word "Sente" was selected when the Photoshop/Gimp gradient was applied.

 		well this is most likely completely irrelevant poppycrock, but isnt it funny that in the chinese game Go, sente means the player with competitive initiative, the one who makes game changing moves, and then the possible redshift reference thrown in the mix, could be seen as the power to "change the world" as they keep insisting is moving away from sente's hands... or maybe they just figured sente was such a boring name that some color had to be tossed inthere for good measure... whos to say? Very Happy

I keep wondering whether Sente has more titles than "Master of Academy", or whatever he got called in that La Presse ad. I think he might possibly head the whole City (of Perplex Smile ) - otherwise why would he say stuff like

This doesnt seem to fFit in any thread existing already, so here's a new one.

My boss wanted me to learn illustrator, and I'm a fFan of learning by doing. So i though to myself, Hmm, what raster image can I recreate as vectors? I know! Sente's Signature! It's a pretty fFaithful reproduction, built based on the scan of the postcard backside.

If the mods think this a bad thing to post publicly or something, I'll take it down.

colours used are #000000->#880000 (that's all black to half-red). I did add the black period after the sig, i did not add anything else.

Why, I think it seems to fit perfectly into a thread titled "Sente Sig" where people have been trying to reproduce, deconstruct, and otherwise manipulate Sente's signature Wink (hence the merging).

Btw, great job on recreating it!
