Oh, thank goodness. It's not dead. Although I'm not sure I like this straight-to-IRC business (it's very easy to keep AIM open with a notification alert set up for synagoga1 and eccleastia - not so much for IRC, where you'd have to keep checking the room to see if anything's happening, which would be very distracting for the procrastination-inclined...). But I whine out of relief. Yay, lack of deadness!

Omnie, go to Options - IRC - Highlight. Enable Highlighting and Add 'Eccleastia', Play sound: Beep (Or some other file), Flash message, Match on: Nickname only. And optionally give it a color. That way, it'll beep when she comes in/says anything and it'll flash green at the top if she comes in/says something while you're away (if you're not in that window, like make the server window the top one), and if you set the color, you'll easily find what she said. /me has it set for all the major characters in the ARGs she's playing.
