SPEC: The Nine, if people in the town...

http://www.sacred-texts.com/bos/bos653.htm

Quote:
Nine Noble Virtues
(Written by Lewis Stead from the Raven Kindred's ritual book)

The Odinic Rite lists the 9 Noble Virtues as Courage, Truth, Honor,
Fidelity, Discipline, Hospitality, Industriousness, Self-Reliance, and
Perseverance.

Could it be that nine people in Aglaura personify these?

Don Marzano - Hospitality
Phyllis - Fidelity
JD - Industriousness
Sam - Courage
Agatha Dobbs - Discipline
Del Doyle - Self reliance (no need for a web site, advertizing, etc.)
Pat Dobbs - Honor
Dawn Prufrock (or Sarah, or DIgitalis) - Truth

Which leaves us with Dale as Perseverance.

Well, it could except that we've identified Trithemius as one of the Nine, haven't we?

Why do you think that this Nine is different and Trithemius is in another group?? I don't understand.

Just giving one erroneous example, not meant to be the end all...

So where in that number do you see Trithemius fitting into that lineup?

Additional observation.. The Don doesn't live in Aglaura, he lives in Hackensack NJ apparently, same place as where Empty Threats is located.

Also, I don't think that you can associate some of the people you mentioned with their supposed virtues. The mayot hasn't displayed a lot of honour, the Don isn't exactly the perfect host either and I wouldn't associate JD with industriousness either.

I'd be more likely to assign one of the 7 deadly sins to him, particularly pride. The Don would be wrath and the Mayor might just be greed,

SPEC: Could these be THE NINE ?

From this site http://www.esotericarchives.com/agrippa/agrippa1.htm
which holds the quote from sixty.html (previously posted by dmax.)

Could these be THE NINE?
the boldface is mine
Quote:

Momus himself carpeth at all amongst the gods; amongst the Heroes, Hercules hunteth after Monsters; amongst divels [devils] Pluto the king of hell is angry with all the ghosts; amongst Philosophers Democritus laugheth at all things, on the contrary Heraclitus weepeth at all things; Pirrhias is ignorant of all things, and Aristotle thinketh he knoweth all things; Diogenes contemneth all things; this Agrippa spareth none, he contemneth, knows, is ignorant, weeps, laught, is angry, pursueth, carps at all things, being himself a Philosopher, a Demon, an Heroes [hero], a god, and all things.

With JD dead, could he still be a member of The Nine?

Thing is we don't exactly know if she is dead or not.
Old comic-book rule. If you haven't seen the body, then they're not dead, and even if you've seen the body, they still might find a way to come back and make your life miserable. Them and their pesky little dogs too. Razz

The only positive confirmations we have on the Nine are the Don and Trimethius. Everyone else would be maybe's, though some less so than others, plus working under the presumption that they're not some sort of hereditary organization.. Though continual reincarnation isn't exactly impossible either..

Anyway, maybe's for the Nine are imo.. Dale. Del Doyle.. Possibly Penrose or Whiting.. Rest are too unlikely at this point.

Course this is just my opinion, so your mileage may vary.
