well I can't find anything about a creshnar puzzle anywhere

creshnar anagram= ranchers but nothing on ranchers puzzle either

I say Bastage, its the only word I can't find in the dictionary

I tried Vigenere with keys:

creshnar
Tan-ok
Unimbria
Ranmatrak
Kra'nell
since cresh seems to substitute for a four letter word I tried a few of those too

only gibberish; ROT too

On IRC earlier tonight, Brain and I decided there was a common theme among alot of the conversation on Unimbria's part, leaning towards Everquest.

Especially Creshnar.

Any thoughts, Comments regarding that?

I know Bastage is a mistake, but it is remarkable how many pages Google returns on a search for Everquest & bastage

I took "creshnar" to be a swear word, or a derogative.

A simple Google search found hits for only one name of the names that has been mentioned in the chat: Graktar.

This appears to be a character in a (tabletop) game: Storm of Chaos, see:

All the names that I have seen mentioned on that site seem in the same style as the names in the chat, also the ' (as in Kra'nell) is used similarly (e.g. in Be'lakor).
It appears that Graktar there is a so-called Beastlord (no does not fit the Vhnxadarn pattern) with hooves and horns. Acoording to the story on the gamepage he was defeated by his successor Khazrak, and sent aaway with one horn less.

Could it be that we are dealing here with a pre-sequel of this game-story?

Unimbria messaged me at around 0930 GMT +13...

I closed the AIM window after adding her to my buddy list.

I asked her if there was ANYTHING else on the wall at all, to possibly put the puzzle into a contextual light - and she said no - but then she said for me to give her ANY possible answers that we had, and she would try speaking them. So I gave her all the words as above in B\S's post, but it wasn't any of them.

After that I was stalling for time trying to think of some other way to break the puzzle, so I asked her about her world, the inhabitants of her world, what the different races are, etc and she told me, She is a Tan'ii, which is the second most advanced race of being on her world, behind the Narsh'ii, then there were Rept'ii (two guesses what they look like), the something else, and the Grakt'ii - who are, of course, the evil despicable race of her world.

Anyway, whilst she was telling me all this, I was googling anythign and everythign she said, still nothing, then she just randomly signed off.

anyway, she's messaged me again - I promise I will save this one.

- Edit so as not to double post - At IU spec has tied this interaction in to Wildfire Industries, which is beginning to make sense, but at the same time, no sense at all.

Unimbria from Ranmatrak - VERY similar to Umbrella from Rainman?
what I cannot figure out, is that she is 16 years old, born to fulfil a prophecy, and is part of a set of triplets.... OH dear god it's all so confusing!

Unimbria: ... And there's another wall, right in the middle
Unimbria: That magic word doesn't seem to work with it
Unimbria: ... But there's a gate

WanderingAngela: Can you open it?
Unimbria: No, I tried, but it's protected by really strong magic.
Unimbria: ... Plus, it's really really thick

Unimbria: Well, off to the side I found what looks like a lift.
WanderingAngela: Oh, that sounds helpful.
Unimbria: It looks like it should go down, but it doesn't operate.
WanderingAngela: Go down? Is it at the top of the wall?
Unimbria: No, at the bottom
Unimbria: There's a pedestal in front of it
WanderingAngela: Is there anything on the pedestal?
Unimbria: Yes, there's a three by three grid...
WanderingAngela: Three by three... hmm...
Unimbria: There's one more thing
Unimbria: When I touch each of the boxes, it changes the symbol it contains
Unimbria: There's three symbols

Unimbria: Umm... I used this Paint program I found on the 'Net to draw them... Shall I send it to you?

Unimbria: Okay, just a moment
WanderingAngela: So you need to choose the correct pattern of symbols to activate the lift?
Unimbria: I'd assume so
