Are there any surveyors out there that would be able to (assuming Liverpool) judge the distance from the cathedral and the radio tower...should give us a circumference to look for the point at which to locate the camera point...if there's nothing suitable there it would then exclude Liverpool. I am still of the opinion that this was stock footage to illustrate a point rather than an indication of an in game location though.

Can anyone make something of this.

First post, so be kind.
Have a look at this:

The correlation is obvious, but the balcony looks similar to the one in the pic...but it may be too low. I'm in the states...anyone from Liverpool know the vantage point from this place?

Well, the balcony could be a match, the angle of the sun is a possibility (though any building facing roughly North or South could give us the angle of the sun in pp7.jpg, since we don't even know if it's sunrise or sunset) and the name link is interesting, but unless the parking area in front is raised up at least 3 or 4 stories above the street you wouldn't get the view in pp7.jpg. It seems unlikely to me, but then I'm a big ol' sceptic so don't worry too much about that. Welcome to the board.

The Academy is in Kirkby. I think that would give a skyline with St Johns Beacon on the wrong side of the Metropolitan Cathedral. I think if it is Liverpool it's taken from Wavertree/Broad Green somewhere; just a thought.

well on the good ol number 14 to uni it goes through wavertree and broad green and theres no buildings high enough (can you tell i spent a lotta time looking Rolling Eyes ) thats why I came up with childwell. Theres a couple of blocks of flats around there near King David High school (scousers dont shoot me with cries of thats not childwell coz the library and 5ways is the closest thing i could see after the flats)

but yeah. wavertree/broad green/childwell gets my vote. Assuming it is liverpool which i still aint convinced about Rolling Eyes

I hope my reply fits on the same page as the other pics above. What are these two objects???

The item in the corner - you can see thru the two 'spines' of what I think is a gargoyle - or some other ornament.

well the balcony of the building seems too modern to have gargoyles on it...could just be the folds in someones clothes at the elbow

srvollmer - note the drop to street level from the balcony and also there is a lighter coloured handrail running along the top of the uprights in the ppc picture which isn't there on the Liverpool one. Nice spot though!

Going back to my previous guess that is West London and the new information of the Abbey Road Studios. From where I speculated the photo was taken from (White City Facing North East) Look where Abbey Road studios is in London, North East of White City. Well I guess we can have a closer look next Saturday.
