Wild Random Speculation Totally wild random speculation below:
Why is the Cube so important to Perplex City? Why do they want it back so badly? So far we don't know of anything particularly spectacular that the Cube can do for them. There has been some speculation that the Cube is a device/means of some sort to allow Perplexians to travel to/look into our world; that may be so, but then there must also be some other device(s) that allows them to do the same thing - Sente doesn't have the Cube, and he is still able to communicate with us. The Cube was stolen on Jan. 16 2004; yet somehow the errorlogs from the Academy were transmitted to us in October. And, more importantly, they seem to be current in PC time (for example, the mail delivery failure log appeared a few days after the other ones, coinciding with the completion of Project Syzygy), which means that the shoe girls were still able to look at Earth shoes in "our" October - months after the Cube was stolen. Since they were able to do that without the Cube, it must mean that they were able to use some other dimension-crossing technique. So, the Cube is not unique in that respect.
It seems that the Cube is capable of getting people into some sort of... uh, fanaticalness. Look at poor Marchant - he was clearly obssessed (assuming he was talking about the Cube). I think it's entirely possible that the Cube drove Zeller to suicide. Those "religious and mystical groups"... I wouldn't be surprised if some of their members have gone completely mental with the desire to possess it (the Cube). I wonder why Sente seems immune to it...
So, as far as we know right now, the Cube has no special "powers", except the power to drive people crazy. Now, why would you want something like that back?
Anyway, here is the wild random prediction: the Cube is bad. During the game, we will be able to convince Sente of that, as well as of not wanting to get it back anymore Possibly, we will find it, but he will not want to transport it back to Perplex City. That should take care of this whole "reward" business that some people (myself included) are concerned about - no Cube, no reward

Argh - my bad Yes Kerning, typographical spacing. I'm being stupid by mentioning the wrong names though:
Between Karmeen and Noi - exactly.
But how do we know those names are real - did someone get a better scan than from the first postcard? I can't believe they even pulled a "y" in "Delaney".
Thank you for your indulgence

I looked at that high-res pic before and couldn't ascertain anything with my evidently primitive methods in Photoshop I want to know your secret to being a better photomanipulator!
Anyway the two words seemed close together.

That would mean that partway through, Sente may become an antagonist! We'd have to go around him to get the answers we need. Who else could we approach for this info? Perhaps the enigmatic Dinah?

Well, to get this thread more on track, I have a bit of a spec about the new advert. It says that Mendling didn't show up for her shift, but it never says they came up with a body. It's possible that it was an inside job and she dissappeared with the cube. Of course, there's another advert that might prove me wrong, but I find it suspicious that they do not mention the body of Fran Mendling being found...

I see your point but... in most cultures they ussualy have some proof be for making accusations like "The murderers of Fran Mendling will pay for their crimes..." if for no other reason then it's really embarasing when Fran turns up alive.
