[OT] [WEIRD] Game World Imploding on Itself Well, last night in San Francisco, a bunch of us met together for a sort of mini-ARGFest at a bar and grill.
Former PMs for The Beast, LockJaw and Project MU converged with former Cloudmakers and Beekeepers. Great fun was had by all.
Then the bill came. Someone apparently felt left out.

That must've been an interesting table to sit at. And 18% is a little higher then normal, but they usually tack that on if the bill is higher then a certain amount.
P.S. Get a flyer and scan it!

'syzygy', hence the topic title.
/me knew people would see the circled item and not read the rest of the receipt.

I reckon that's an OK deal on the price. By my reckoning you're looking at about $10 for a main course and $5-$6 for a starter/dessert to take you to $330 for 40 items. Sounds OK, though perhaps the current exchange rate is leaving me biased....
And I'm loving how people are marginally interested in the Syzygy reference but are pouring over the cost of the food like accountants

Man, I never even noticed that until this very second... it's the big circling of the total that I think throws everyone (well, me at least) off... sheesh... that's a good test to see how 'argish' one's mind is... how much do they look at detail, read between the lines, see the hidden pieces...
'what do you see here?'

Sure hoping you tackled the server and acquired a flyer especially after the generous tip.

Geez, no lie, lol. But hey c'mon. there were like 12 of us there, and an 18% tip (yes, added on for larger parties) is cheap for us Las Vegans.

ok, I passed on mentioning this earlier, but now that the level of our interest in all things syzygy has been questioned I feel I have to step up:
a common definition of syzygy is:
n : the straight line configuration of 3 celestial bodies (as the sun and earth and moon) in a gravitational system
I noticed right away that the restaurant listed three items --Cosmic libations, Culinary creations and Musical vibrations-- as part of their Saturday night Syzygy. Good for them knowing what the word -- sometimes thought of around here as "that which we cannot spell" -- means and using it properly.
