AVHRR-y interesting image

Neat, AVHRR (Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer) imagery ... my cup o' tea. The image likely came from NOAA's Polar WEFAX Products , specifically their Antartic region infrared daytime composite. At the moment I am posting this, the latest composite available is for March 14th.
The AVHRR sensor mounted on the NOAA-16 platform takes multiple passes to image that region of the South Pole, thus the time range reflects the period of time from which the base images were collected. Presumably, this means the first pass was around 2000 UTC on the 12th and the last at 0200 UTC on the 13th. Here's NOAA-16's orbital tracks for the 12th and 13th , courtesy of SSEC at Wisconsin-Madison.
My intuition tells me the specific image she used doesn't mean anything ... it's just kinda cool looking (the South Pole looking like a hole into which Alice could crawl), but hey ... satellite imagery is cool. Also, I suppose there could be a sort of 'geospatial' subtext implied here ... Jane has shown a propensity to include notions of location in her wonderful games.

hm, a hint then
perhaps the next project will involve Antarctica or satelites, but this exact image and the NOAA satelite in question won't be important
hopefully it won't be too long
now that many of us have a personal aquaintenceship with some of the 4orty2wo team, i think it might be hard for us to remember to turn our blinders on and chant "this is not a game"
of course, knowing that their favorite beekeepers are playing, will they be able to resist giving little shoutouts?

She also indicated that this did not really lead anywhere, like, say, a website. Just so you all know.
Yes, but since when do we not "get cracking" anyway? What about something along the lines of a hollow earth? A literal (though not THAT literal) hole in the south polar region where one can gain access?

ooooooooh, hollow earth theories, ancient societies, nazi searches (yes, they really looked); that could make one hell of a story
of course, they could shoot it off in a totally different direction and have the plot revolve around Santa Claus's evil twin brother who lives at the other pole........... ok, i'll stop now

Mmmmm Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer
Yay for NOAA!
Now if they will just hire me not for real..... and xnbomb dont tell them that there are in fact smart people like you out there. They might not ever hire me.
Edit:
Of course doing my work instead of posting here might be helpful too...

As well as Jane's site, which has Kristen listed as an ongoing ally/collaborator? As well as Elan Lee? Could this be a hint at their next game? [their == 4ourty 2wo]
edit to turn HTML tag into BBCode tag -- catherwood, because she still can.
