[PRESS] Contra Costa Times

Mass Website Game Generates Buzz - Mar. 16, 2005 (Registration Required)

Very good article, worth the registration, with some great quotes from the folks at 4orty2two. If I find a link of somewhere where it's syndicated without registration required, I'll post it here.

It's a syndicated article from the Chicago Tribune - you can read the original, sans registration, here.

Google News

Sometimes you can get at articles like this on newspaper websites that otherwise require registration by finding in them in Google News and following a link from there. If you go to Google News and search on "Elan Lee", you'll find the Contra Costa Times article as the first hit (at the time that I am posting this). If you click on the link from there, it seems that because the referrer is a Google News URL, registration is not required and you can read it. Bugmenot is good too when it works, but this is another way to go.

Um....this is a COMPLETELY different article....

I did the bugmenot thing for chicagotribune.com to pass through to the article, and it is not even close to the same.

Video games let players live in alternate worlds

And whlie the article mentions Perplex City, it doesn't mention ILB or the Berkeley exhibit at all...Steve, if you haven't posted the chicagotribune article yet, you might consider doing it now.

So, um yeah. I am confused. But I get that way sometimes.

I have absolutely no idea how I managed to get those two confused, and will be wearing the pointy dunce hat for the rest of today.

Here are some unexpected articles about ARGs in general and Jane McG. It's my local newpaper, so imagine my surprise to open it up and find ARG as the main headline on the first day of the new year...
