Just a couple of very quick non-points, my PC star sign is 'The Spider' and I like the thing about 'infamous "Girls of the Academy" series' Very Happy

It seems their stock market is the 'PCX' and the zero year was 1735/1736 depending on the presence of a year 0.

Hm, indeed. You really have a point there. [wear a hat, it won show. ha-ha. gosh, i'm funny. Drool ]

yeah i wrote an email saying i was an outer-towner, welcomed overseas guest, and foreign dignitary.. they all bounced, but im sure there are other cities... there have to be. perhaps it is secluded somehow, or their planet lies mostly undiscovered, more of the backstory should be revealed when we get full access.

I'm sort of picturing a sky city like in star wars with sente being this Lando character...are they good or evil sort of thing....might explain why perplex city just seems to be the only thing on this planet

the thing I found funny about the "Girls of the Academy" series mention was that it sounded oh so similar to the Sun, especially when they were talking about the guy who was running the paper at a loss for a few years, I'm sure that's similar to Rupert Murdoch when he was first running the Sun (from what I can remember of learning about the twat in media studies Very Happy)

That would help explain why they refuse to send things outside of the city, other planets could be quite far away!

Hi Yanka - they have a foreign affairs section in the paper so they may be a city state but there a surely others in their world. They don't seem to believe in (or are atleast sceptical of) the existence of earth, so we're not the foreigners.

Kelsey, quite happy to accept the trout. We are all here with different skills, and mine aren't how internet sites check out cookies, having had a look at the ones I seem to have collected, they just looked like an rtf file, so I thought maybe we could try to create one and fool the server.

Sometimes it helps to explain so that I (and possibly others who aren't experts in this area) can understand. I think what you are saying is that you have checked and the server isn't looking for a cookie at the moment, so this wouldn't work. Can you just confirm that? I'm not stupid, I just don't know. Confused

Thanks

Ah, thanks for pointing that out. I find that somehow... reassuring.

sorry again! Rolling Eyes

and yepp, that was the point. basically, we cant log in ANYHOW. That thing is almost their "Page not found" error message. Everything that the PM-s are not ready with, leads there. Hence, we can't get any subscriptions yet.

Very interesting entry on the letters page:

Quote:

Why is it that nobody is talking about how great it is to be living in a post-Cube world? I, for one, am glad that we were able to have such a subdued holiday season this year, soft economy or no. The overcommercialisation and consumer frenzy every year during the holidays has made me sick for decades, now.

We in Perplex City are a sophisticated, educated society. It's time we threw off the shackles of superstition the Cube has held us with for so long, and begun to view the world around us with eyes of pure science.

Ian Shivuto

This Ian guy seems to be echoing alot of my own thoughts on religion. Being a devout atheist as i am, i know have a real quandary - do i actually want to help them find the cube?!? Smile
