Iris and Bruce chasing the deathwish???

Dear Pam,

Your loyalty to Dale is admirable. I am certain that he is very lucky
and grateful for friends like you. Perhaps I can begin to piece the story
together this weekend when I finally meet with Mr. Abbott. He just
wrote to me offering to meet at a restaurant called "Empty Threats". Hopefully he will agree to let me being the boys and Phyllis along, since I do not generally frequent mob establishments, let along places where DEGs seem to feel welcome to come and go frequently.

Perhaps Mr. Abbott will be able to get me in touch with Mr. Sprague. We
shall see.

Iris

OMG! Don't these people value their lives???

I have not seen evidence that the Don has done any 'whacking'.
Granted, the stereotype would lead one to believe that he is guilty, but I am not ready to believe he is the person behind all that has happened. After all, have you forgotten about the DEGs? How about the Numbered Ones or whatever they are?
Then there are the Second Circle and the Guides. One or all of these
groups could just as easily be responsible. None of them have been particularly charitable in their help, have they?

No, I do not think that I am in any more danger going to the Empty
Threats establishment than I am sitting here talking to you folks. What is to keep the Don from walking into the house and blowing us all away? Nothing.

Anyway, I bumped into Wes as I was heading to the Diner for lunch. He
had some pretty interesting things to say. I hope to have some new avenues for investigation real soon. Please do not take offense if I keep some things to myself just now. I have been warned that there are people who cannot be trusted and I do not wish to compromise anyone or anything that might be important.

Iris

Dear Pam,

Thank you for your understanding. I know that you are all trying very
hard to help Mr. Sprague, Phyllis and whom ever else you are corresponding with, but my first duty is to helping my client and causing as little heartache as I can. Sometimes that means deciding that there is information which is far too critical or sensitive to release at the time. It has been my experience that caution is the better part of valor and with this case so convoluted; I would have to release information which is then handed over to the wrong people.

Iris

Does this mean she possibly has learned something else about JD?

OK I think I'm lost, dazed and confused here...

Didn't Bruce just DROP Empty Threats as a client?
Of course he may just be showing there are no hard feeling between himself and the management, or is there something there that Bruce wants her to see? (She mentions DEGs coming and going, maybe Bruce wants to track down their boss?)

Nope.
Number of times, I've lectured Dale on not going off on his lonesome, but to take someone with him.. Well.. It's been a lot of times and he hasn't listened thus far.

So why should Bruce and Iris play smart?? I really don't understand people at times, bearding the dragon in its own lair, is just about the most foolish thing you can do.. Urgh.. Rolling Eyes
