i think we are doing it. talking about every aspect of this world we are getting a glimpse of. We were just given a huge element. They want to give us time to soak it all up, take it all in. Soon we'll have more.

This is the second time I am typing this because I had lost the post =(

There is puzzle's we haven't cracked yet, and many puzzle's to be found.

A glance at the new site shows me a number of thing's..

a) The title image is using a .png format (why would they?)
b) The name of the image is Frontpage - I would be inclined to log into the website using Frontpage. However, I do not have a copy of the software here.. and I would be inclined to use 'ceretin' as a username/password.
c) The .css has an error within it: "div.mainstoryconteent p" instead of "div.mainstorycontent p" - There is a page within the newspaper for reporting error's.
d) There is a big red link stating 'Authenticate' and when you access it something is 'broken'.
e) The webpage article on Sente (sente_kiteway_s.html) is an anagram of "I test news key".. it is also"Ate key witness" - I believe Sente isn't that way inclined tho Wink
f) They use the @import command for the css - which hides thing's from previous browser's.

I am sure there is a great deal more we can look at. i.e. seek new webpages with the new given information and about 1000 new names to google and shift through anagram engines.

*EDIT*
Sorry Folk's I for some reason I left out the 'A' in my haste for the "I test news key" Anagram. It could be read as 'I test a news key'.. or even 'News: I test a key'.

I don't. I have Dreamweaver MX 2004. However, if they're going to assume you have a 100-600 dollar Microsoft Office Component, then why are they writing the page in XHTML 1.0 Transitional, using tight human readable code? Frontpage could never spit that clean a code out.

Who said it's clean? I noticed a few parts of css that struck me as odd. If someone else can w3 validate this code with the proper encoding (super tired, can't do it) I suspect it may show a few lines of error. Non-validated XHTML documents (transitional, not strict) will still show up looking as if they contain no errors, however nothing escapes the grasp of the w3 validator. I've worked with it numerous times and it can be a huge pain, however it's entirely feasible to code this by hand using notepad fairly easily.

Well I got bored and validated the file after I saved the web site on my local host. 48 errors occured (it used western european encoding which is why I couldn't encode it. It wasn't auto-detecting, and utf-8 didn't work either.) A couple of these errors are just errors that occured from me saving the website on my local host i.e. random % signs. However there were a lot of human errors such as forgetting end tags, specifying values, etc. It is not valid XHTML Transitional, so unless the designer was sloppy, this might be purposeful.

A random observation from my cold medicine-addled brain: AC (in dates) probably stands for After Cube. If this has been mentioned or was just assumed, I could use a nice trout.

I don't know. I wouldn't call any of those "puzzles" per se...I've seen png formats in args before that have turned out to be nothing, I think it's perfectly fine for the front page banner to be called "frontpage", etc.

Seriously, I think this is all we're meant to see at this point. The front page of the paper's site will probably be updated, but I'd say the chance that we EVER get full subscription benefits is extremely slim. Nothing we have seen so far gives any indication that the next step involves a "throw the whole pot of pasta at the wall and see what sticks" approach.

I think what she meant by the png thing is that the image is not actually a valid png file, it is a gif file. So why would someone purposely rename the file extension?

And what I meant is that I have seen that before, and it's turned out to be nothing. Actually, it was in a previous ARG by the same PM. Trust me...I felt there might be something behind the picture then, and I was wrong.

ok not to get angry or anything, because we all appreciate your(collective) detectiving, and spec, and clue searching Very Happy everyone let's try to keep this thread under 15 pages.

because when march 28th rolls along, and we mayhaps get another update, well be looking at a 30 page thread. which becomes completely unreadable (well not really, but you have to make the effort) up to the point were stuff is repeated, or somewhat irrelevant- ala our friend the newspaper thread, who knows what lies buried in that baby. certainly no more than 2 pics of dinah...
Wink and that funky video Cool

and i mean this is just as much for our benefit. as it is for new people who want to know whats going on. etc yadda yadda, in short post only if the little leprachaun Jetpack click me laddie Jetpack says you can.

edit: due to lack of leprachauns... jetpack will suffice

editedit: and to make my post actually usefull

something like a username password in the url eg:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://sentekiteway:221545484848465100503215@perplexcitysentinel.com/
doesn't as yet work. as in give you internal access.

editedit: omg spaceXplorer just hit the jackpot, you are our 1millionth superpwnageownerer. this voucher may be redeemable for a playful smack from the friendliest fish in the sea... or is it freshwater? Wink

I think what we need to do is calm down and figure out what our next move/puzzle is.

We have the Sentinel and we need a key. If we need a key then it's not impossible to find it or use it.

I was wondering if the codes after the names in the Log files might not be their keys?
