Right. I'm sorry, but I'm 99.9% sure this is new and only 60% sure it's useless.
All the links down the right hand side of the page lead directly to the page named after them except for all the puzzles, which have been placed in a seperate puzzles directory. Trying to access simply /lifestyle or /serivices just gives a 404 error. But /puzzles on it's own works (but is useless) and puzzles/index can be reached (but is also useless) Perhaps there is some other page in the /puzzles directory which can be accessed but only indirectly, by typing it into the browser window. I tried thinking of other types of puzzles to put in but ran out of ideas.

someone earlier in the thread mentioned the 'ac' and 'bc' suffixes of time being 'after cube' and 'before cube' respectively.
I thought this made sense at first, but from reading the article stating that Sente should be removed, it states that the cube was stolen one year ago. And from http://www.perplexcity.com/2718281828/ , the quote is listed as being from 148 ac.
So if the ac/bc does reflect an after cube/before cube, I assume it would be relating to whatever effect the cube had on this society. With the society being a minimum of around 148 years old, or 148 years since whatever great developments the cube brought.
Now, since the society has been in such decline in only 1 year -without- the cube, I would imagine that 148 years of cube advancement would place the society at pretty primitive (at least by our standards) levels before then... Just spec though.

I've been going pretty crazy over this authenticate process on the sentenial site. I've heard theories of cookies, php, login boxes, the key is a piece of hardware and the sites not ready lets just wait and see until i think my mind might explode. I do not believe the site would go live without a way to authenticate. I think (sorry if its trout) that its looking for some type of file not neccessarily a cookie but a file to authenticate to.
where its located and whats its supposed to be named are a mystery to me still. I dont know if I'm supposed to have the file on my computer or point the link to the file name to authenticate (http://perplexcitysentinal/authenticate/file.txt). but I guess i'm posting here to maybe give a new idea to someone who is maybe thinking along the same lines as me. If its trout again sorry.

well, as this site can't be the actual Sentinel in Perplex City that we are being allowed to view (I doubt our phone lines connect that far ... ) it is *possible* that we won't be able to authenticate with THE key it talks about. If Sente has made a copy of the Sentinel site in PC to show to us here, then it would make sense that we also see the PC version of the 'unable to authenticate' page, the one PC citizens would see if their key was b0rked. Lucky for them, if you're in PC with your key you could just nip out and get it serviced. We however may never be able to do that, so may never see more than the 'unable to authenticate' page.
Just spec, and I hope of course that that isn't the case!

I lightened the background of the Sente pic on the op/ed part of the Sentinel using photoshop's dodge tool. I'd attach it but I'm not sure how. Anyway, it's probably nothing, but there's a mix of green and brown and red shapes behind him. It looks a bit like an odd camouflage pattern. Have a go!
Edit: Although, tbh, it also just looks like the background the artist was working on to pick colours, which has then been rubbed away to be replaced with the black.

Uh, I'm pretty sure he made that up.
You get the same thing if you go to:
http://brat-sampson:password@perplexcitysentinel.com
It was just a slightly more likely combination.

Keys

We have the Sentinel and we need a key. If we need a key then it's not impossible to find it or use it.
I was wondering if the codes after the names in the Log files might not be their keys?
We need to make a list of the possible keys from what we currently have:
I tried: http://www.perplexcitysentinel.com/authenticate/?key=221545484848465100503215 with no success (would that it was so easy). Others have used the number with an alternate parameter pass in form, also without joy. What are the other possible keys?

Here is what I tried :
I tried to send a cookie when connecting to the site with datas :
key = 221545484848465100503215
key = [the different badge nbr in the log files]
(used curl -d [cookie data] www.perplexcitysentinel.com)
tried also with names (sente, tanners, etc) (name=kentekiteway) for example.
Did'nt work
I also tryed with POST and GET data sent to the page.. no luck
I tried connecting in telnel and ftp : no luck
Connecting with ssh: the system asks for a password. sentekiteway and the 24-digit number don't work....
/Belga.

Umm... can't be a weekly paper then

At the bottom of the subscribe page ( i think) they encourage freelance contributions to the paper. I tried sending one to newsSPLAT perplexcitysentinel.com
I received an odd reply from the yahoo mailing whatsit. Anyone else have a go? It looks to me like the address exists but is blocking unsoliceted stuff.
