my initial guess on method:

since version 1.5 used 5-bit groups for number index, 1.6 probably groups the binary in sets of 6. Also, since there are now more than 32 characters in the frequency list, an index into that would need to be stored in binary with a length of six.

I just wanted to relate with everyone the events that occurred during our visit to VagabondsSojourn. Faery and Roth were there to greet us, as it seems that the Vagabond himself had other matters to attend to. As it turns out, his presense would not have changed things much. After we discussed the nature of humanity, Faery began a (much rehersed) speech on Free Will and the responsibility of every sentient creature to oppose those who would seek to destroy it. Considering our current situation I didn't think it totally out of place, but I didn't think we were invited just for an ethics lecture. Finally, at the end of our visit she indicated that we would be receiving a message soon, to 'guide us in the right direction.' What this cryptic message means is still beyond me.

Doh! Joe/Josh labels this as 1.6 but it was really in 1.5 encoding.

I don't trust them. Why are they so eager to help us? If they are so powerful, why are we still hiding?

There was also another encoded post in another thread -- over 1000 characters long. The decoder spits out a message riddled with typos, but it's readable. I'm choosing not to do that one by hand.
