How about this:

"If you're happy with your deduction press SUBMIT to check it"

I believe deduce means to substract one number from another?

Maybe there's a clue there?

Also, "The worth of a thing is what it will bring"

What will solving the puzzle bring us? The reward is the most logical answer I can think of. (10.946,- Pounds Sterling) It will most definitely bring us the telephone number we need to move on with the game.

Well, that's about it for now...

Cheers, Slowzone

the only thing i've found what's staring us at the face, is the pictury of the happy family on the desk in the study. As far as i know we still didn't find a purpose for that puzzle.

/grumble.

The voice in the background on the promo is either brigid or possibly the original actress from dune, quoting part of the first lines of the book/movie.

Know then that "it is the year ten thousand one ninety one"
Quoted part is the part actually in the promo soundtrack... it repeats over and over again. The UNKLE cd also has a dune reference, I think.

I'd like to take this opportunity to Smack the PM's for throwing in such a completely out-of-context red-herring. Geez.

Ok, other than a real gut feeling that butterflies should be First, and Trident should be third, I got nuttin.

Ok, 2 things.

1)Gsahgasgsa, for your own safety im going to have to ask you to put down the fibonacci numbers, and step away from the vehicle. I have posted this on many occasions, and people still haven't let it sink in. I have tried and tested the fibonacci numbers to breaking point. With it being 1 2 3 5 8 13 from left to right for each combination, right to left, and also as according to what the webcam8 image says, and you know what? None of them were right. I know they seemed right, i know they make sense, but it isnt them. I think the image was just to let us know we had to rotate the pieces to make a spiral.

2) The other picture "Staring us in the face" is the lottery article, on the hornchurchstar website. Him in sunglasses and her just looking ominously creepy. There is some kinda reflection in his glasses, but i couldnt make anything out. Anyone else wanna try?

I've been thinking about this for a while...

The PM's have indicated that this IS the final puzzle, in two ways...
1) the page it is on is called 'conclusion'
2) the horoscopes end this month

this puzzle has been open for about a month now (probably more)
recently they tell us that 'the answer is staring us in the face'.

either, they've realized that they've made it TOO hard and have now got to give us really ambiguous clues to try and help things along (because they know the ad campaign is failing and people are getting bored), or there is indeed no answer.

i am beginning to believe that there is in fact no answer for various reasons....

1) we have tried all possible combinations with the fibonacci numbers
2) we have tried all orders of the symbols given in three places: HWAU, hornchurch crossword and in the book faust. none of these orders worked.
3) nothing has happened since we found the puzzle apart from an 'out of game' hint that the answer is staring us in the face.
4) the game is set to end at the end of this month according to the hornchurch crossroad
5) no-one officially has confirmed the prize money actually exists. surely if the PM's wanted people to spend over 6 MONTHS on a game then they would HAVE to PROVE that there is in fact a prize.
6) the puzzle has infinite possibilities... any two numbers or letters can be entered in any order in each of the six boxes... to guess it correctly would be a practical impossibility.
7) there is NO OBVIOUS part of the game so far that leads us anywhere near to the solution. we don't know what order to put the symbols in, we don't know how to position them (we can only guess that the spiral is correct) and we certainly don't know what values to give any of the symbols. there are too many unknowns for this to be completed.

ok. rant over. i'm not usually a pessimist... i've hung around this long after all!

i am just beginning to lose faith in this game. it requires 2 months extra patience that i simply don't have.

Well I just emailed Stella asking about the game and the last puzzle. We'll see what I get back.

i doubt they'll give out clues via e-mail anyway... it wouldn't be fair.

26 days. It has been available for 26 days. Not really more than a month. And consider that the puzzle is worth quite a lot. The winner receives money and is potentially used in their next advertising campaign. Check the terms and conditions, they are legally binding. A big company like Interbrew couldn't just lie about such a prize, it is illegal to do so.
I also wouldnt call my hint "out of game" since every other email sent by an ingame company was referred to as "in game". If you want to drop out that's your loss. Id rather see it through to the end.

I wasn't asking for clues! I was asking what the deal was with the game. Is it over? Is the puzzle solvable etc etc

In my email i asked about the final puzzle, and if there was another clue we were waiting for. Also i asked if we already knew the numbers we had to use and such. Basically a long rant covering everything. I submitted it as a comment on marlowedigital.com
My reply was: (word for word)
"To paraphrase a former associate, the answer is staring you in the face."
That was all it said.

There is something there. I saved the pic and expanded it and htere seems to be an image of a person(Jon?) in black pants and t-shirt kneeling in front of them. On the left lens it looks as if there is something next to the man.

Sorry to be a pain, but could you post a pic please? I've only got MSPaint since my second hard drive died on me Sad

Okay, The person in the Sunglasses reflection is obviously the person that took the photo.

So let's move on to the next clue....

Cheers, Slowzone
