Did you both send cv's in the first place?

I did send an application - but it was a rather presumptuous application in which I basically said, my name should be enough for you (implying everyone knows who I am). Unsurprisingly, I got rejected. However, I replied anyway and just like everyone else who did I have "provisional" status. I'm half expecting it to be repealed at some point! Or better, I get a second chance to submit a proper application!!

As to the dog thing, I notice in the latest Blog post that Beth (presumably) refers to the dog lady. I speculate that this is Monet Dabney - especially as Garith Yung has referred to her as the mongrel before. I wonder if this is significant?
