Iris meets Bruce

Dear Pam,

No, you have not offended me at all! I have just been very busy this
weekend. When we learned that Mr. Willingham's body was to be released on Friday, we suddenly had to move into high gear. Phyllis is a wonder, I tell you! I do not think I could so skillfully maneuver through the political, social and legal hurdles she has had to jump through just to get Mr. Willingham's funeral and interment to occur. I do not know why, but Mr. and Mrs. Dobbs are being fantastically sweet to everyone. They even offered her a plot in a local cemetery! Talk about going above and beyond. It seems Mayor Dobbs was much closer to Mr. Willingham than one would have guessed.

You are correct when you say I met with Bruce. The boys and I drove
out to meet with him at this restaurant called Empty Threats. Have you ever been? It is a very stereotypical place, you know, the sort that you would expect some mobster to own. Don't get me wrong, it is very tastefully done, but still, I expected Mr. Marzano to come jumping out at any moment.

Bruce was an interesting man, though not at all my type. He was very
polished and particular, just like the young woman he introduced as Angie. Angie seemed to be nice, though she seemed rather more focused on her appearance to really pay attention to a lot of other things. You can tell that something has happened between the two of them. I would guess that if there is not a relationship between them, then there will be soon. I had the uncomfortable feeling that I was in the way, if you catch my drift.

Well, it seemed that there were no other Marzano family members there
when we arrived. Angie let us into Mr. Marzano's office and I walked around trying to get something, any impression or feeling that might help us, but I had trouble. You see the whole room felt guarded somehow. It was as if something or someone was shielding the room from my senses. After a while I began to see flickers and I will try and piece them together here as best I can. I saw Mr. Marzano seated on a large chair or maybe a throne. He seemed to be speaking to someone, though I could not see who from where I was standing. As I walked around I heard a word or two here and there, the only part I could understand at the moment was: "I will take care of him. What about the girl?
We need ..." I know there was more that he said before and after this,
but right now that is all I understand.

Please let me know if any of this rings a bell with anyone. The boys
are a little freaked out by all that has happened and I cannot blame them. I am going to bed so I will be able to deal with tomorrow.

Iris

Pam:

Iris Page (along with two male companions whose names I forget) met me at Empty Threats this afternoon. Fortunately, my gambit paid off -- there was no sign of the Don, Frank, or Marco at the restaurant (perhaps they're off involved with funeral arrangements for Sal, for all I know). Anyway, we sat down, and chatted for a while about our individual encounters with the DEG's. Iris was very interested in anything I could tell her about Dale -- I did what I could to help her.

After a while Iris excused herself to go to the 'powder room'. This was
the signal I had worked out with Angie, though. Angie went back to the rear of the restaurant as well, and let Iris into the Don's office for a look-see. As I had hoped, Iris did have a vision of something while she was in there. She did say what she had seen was a vision of the Don; later, Angie told me that whatever she saw, Iris was in a trance-like state for several minutes, and looked quite shaken when she came out of it. Having been the inspiration for all this, I'd like to be apprised of the details when you learn them, so that I can find out if my 'great idea' generated anything of value.

Bruce

Hmmm I wonder if Iris isn't telling us everything she saw.

Uh oh, Heather isn't going to like that....

Oh, Heather is resigned to the fact that internet romances are truely just fantasy. Bruce has never made any overtures to venture even close enough to Las Vegas for any sort of face-to-face meeting.
