It was tucked into the door. Doesn't look like they opened it at all, else they could've left it on her counter or shoved underneath the door.

And it's not a stretch to believe they could've done so.. But Phyllis didn't note any disturbances of her premises though. And she seems the type to notice when folks have been fiddling around with her stuff.
