Look for ROBOGriff or Clayfoot. Bring your ideas.

I think I'll be on tonight.... Can't say it'll be 8pm Est., but hopefully some time around there at the very least.

*note* I am VERY rusty.

Ditto here. I'm appalled to see that I haven't played on Live for more than a month. Yikes.

I'll make an appearance for a while tonight to get some training in but I am not sure how long I can stay away from MxO which has had some interesting developments happening.

That sniper (war epic) was super-annoying on that game. I spent maybe 4 or 5 deaths in close succession being spawn-killed with a bullet to the head.

It wasn't that they really owned us as a team, it was that they were persistent in pairs and singles, just grabbing that bomb and stickying another second or so of time, and then maybe rocket launching three of us to secure a good few more seconds on that timer.

I've noticed that we need to be better about that. I'll be running like mad to get back over there to contest the bomb, and I see someone on the turret or something, or running around chasing after some guy out in the field.

It's better to attempt a little stealth into the base at that point just to touch the bomb, methinks, rather than running around trying to make the base clear for a nice, leisurely plant. Sticky time is valuable for this very reason.

After the beating you gave me last year in Chi, I take this as a good thing (if we were competing). Wink

I have played Halo about 3 times in the last 3 months, so this is definitly a "shake the rust off" session for me.

Oh, and as for the ghost with brakes thing - yeah! That's how I used to get up the ramps quickly on Headlong - hit the brakes right when you get to that first barrier, and then keep boosting, or, as was the case far too many time, hold X to flip Ghost, and then hop back on and head up to the flag/bomb spot.

I don't do that ramp Ghost thing much any more. My preference lately is to head up the air lift on camo way and grab the beam rifle. I need to keep my cool with that weapon in closer combat. Ah well, practice.

My thoughts exactly. On headlong in particular, I've started practicing on my own making the jump across the middle of the enemy base, from the third floor to the second. I've planted the bomb a couple times that way, and even if you don't succeed outright then you get another half a second on it.

Yeah, for a while I was grabbing the bomb a lot and then waiting for you guys to come with me and help me. Now I know, through extensive research, that this often ends in tears.

So now, I wait until I have maybe one or two on backup, or I try to get into the base all on my own, and I get it there as soon as possible. Far, far better, with our beekeepers, to have two minutes on the clock and us contesting the bomb at the plant spot, than to have 30 seconds before sudden death, and us SORT OF moving in a planned offensive as a complete team.

I'd be happy to host a headlong tour tonight as part of traning. I'll be on around 9 EST (can't miss Lost!). If you're interested, send me a message on XBL when you log in, I'll see it when I arrive.

edit: unless it gets covered before I show up of course. But if there's overflow I'll take on some proteges Smile

OMG, I love giving tours. I may not know the exact location of EVERY single weapon and ammo spot, but I do know these maps really, really well.

Just ask Ariock!

"And here's where the rocket launcher is! See?"

*KABOOM!*

"I see you've re-spawned at the fan. I am currently at the sniper platform."

*PING*

"OK, so now you're under the sea wall ... ..."
