[SOLVED]Poem puzzle

This is a new thread to talk about the poem puzzles. As of now, there are two poems with the same format, and no clue how to decipher them.

One can be found here
http://citizens.aresstation.com/?q=node/21

and the other can be found here
http://citizens.aresstation.com/?q=node/31

same format?

the format seems to be similar but not identical. The number of letters per line, words per line, syllables per line are not the same.

do you mean the source code formatting of the text is the same?

I wonder if the outline of the poems make a symbol, as if it is a drawing with words?

Wasn't there something that said "watch for me I'm invisible" or something to that effect? Is that relevant here?

They do have same words per line

Actually, both do have the same words per line.

6, 2, 6, 2, 6, 15, 7, 8, 2, 14, 6, 13, 6, line break 3, 3

The quote you are referring to is just i'm invisible that was sent in a bunch of emails and a blog post, in code... the emails have something to the effect of, i'm invisible watch the forums i'm invisible. Go read the big thread for more details.

now I get it/

I know what happened, I printed out copies of the text of the poems to work from and it changed the formatting of the longer lines. sorry, thanks for correcting me on this.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
www.aresstation.com/bbox.mp3
If you pair up the number of words per line they give you 62, 62, 6F, 78, 2e, 6d, 70, 33 which translate to ASCII as bbox.mp3!

Fantastic, I dont have speakers at work, anyone working on a transcript? Rather than everyone doing one at the same time.

Yep. It definitely sounds like a black box recording!
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

It's a conversation between Miner 06676 (Simon Miller?) and initially a docking checkpoint guard. The checkpoint guard won't let Miller out before he completes his checklist. Miller tries to break free of his docking clamps.
This gets a Mr. Seven involved and orders Jones (Jacob?) to tag along with Miller to his asteroid instead of Brian Shapier. The recording stops just before they're about to leave the dock

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Important info I heard was:
1) Miner 6676 = Simon Miller
2) Miner 6706 = Brain Shapier
3) Max Eaton loses lots of money to Simon playing poker, at least two weeks running.
4) Miners share a dislike of Jacob Jones.
5) David Stevern is in a managerial position to the traffic control guy.
6) Simon is a bit of a hot-headed a-hole. How can anyone be sure he wouldn't kill anyone? I don't think he did kill Jacob, but if I was prosecuting him, I'd sure bring this recording to court.
7) The comment of if anyone gets to my asteriods... made me think of Forest Gump saying "I guess sometimes there just aren't enough rocks.

Quote:
Dock control: Miner 006676, you will go down your checklist or you will not be allowed
to leave the bay! Do you copy?
Miner 006676: Okay! Okay! The green light is on! The green light is blinking, I'm
recording. Are you happy now?
Dock control: You are required to go down the checklist before you will be given
clearance to leave the hangar.
Miner 006676: Why is this even on the list? If I avoid this, will you even find me or
this black box? What's the point?
Dock control: Miner 006676, you are required to go down the checklist...
Miner 006676: My name is Simon!
Dock control: Miner 006676, please check your oxygen pressure.
Miner 006676: And they put the black box before oxygen pressure. Just let me go through
my own checklist?
Dock control: Are you go for oxygen levels?
Miner 006676: Yes. My oxygen is go, my fuel is go, my maneuvering thrusters are off
by 1%, but that should be fine, even for you! Everything is green on my
panel, I am go! You're holding me up. If someone gets, if someone gets
to those asteroids before me, I'll float up there and shove a wrench
up your ass!

<Pause>

<Sound of engine winding up>

Dock control: What, What are you doing? You're going to rip right out of your moorings!
Miner 006676: Release the clamps!
Mr. Severn: Is there a problem here?
Miner 006676: Shit. No, sir. Just going down my checklist, Mr. Severn.
Mr. Severn: It sounds to me like you were threatening one of my staff!
Miner 006676: No, no. Just trying to move the process a little faster, thats all.
Mr. Severn: Who's your partner on this run?
Miner 006676: Shapier. Brian Shapier.
Mr. Severn: Who?
Miner 006676: Miner 6706.
Mr. Severn: I don't think so.
Miner 006676: What? We're a team!
Mr. Severn: Jones has been requesting an outing. He thinks he's found something out in
Sector 9.
Miner 006676: Oh no, please! Anything but that dust sniffer!
Mr. Severn: I think you're headed out to that Sector anyway. I'll let you step him through
the prep, because you really care about that, don't you?
Miner 006676: Yes, sir.
Mr. Severn: Ares Station, out.
Miner 006676: Great.
Jones: Hey, Simon, isn't it?
Miner 006676: Jones.
Jones: How'd you know what my name was?
Miner 006676: (Sarcastic) Well, you're a legend amongst the Miners on the station!
Jones: Really?! Oh, well, everyone on science side knows about you! Only
because Max was muttering your name under his breath all last week.
And the week before that.
Miner 006676: Heh. And for good reason!
Jones: How much has he lost to you so far?
Miner 006676: That's between me, him and the cards. Have you run your checklist yet?
Jones: Err, yeah.
Miner 006676: How's your oxygen?
Jones: Err.

<Sound of oxygen tank filling up>

Jones: Breathable!
Miner 006676: You have no idea, do you?
Jones: Look, I can fly just fine. It's not my fault that every one of you has a different
control layout! Haven't you people heard of standard controls?
Miner 006676: We can make do with what we've have. Can you fly it? I have something important to
do.
Jones: Of course. I've been flying one of these things for months.
Miner 006676: Okay. Well, if we fly off straight into an asteroid, it's on your head. Control,
this is Miner 006676 and Scientist...Jones...whatever his number is we're
go. Take those clamps off already.
Dock control: Roger, Miner 006676.
Miner 006676: Alright, let's see if you can fly. And when we're out there, no chatter! There's
going to be a rough spot...

I think we should revisit this blackbox recording. The things that stand out to me are:

Quote:
You're holding me up. If someone gets that (sucking in of teeth), if someone gets to my asteroids before me, I'll float up there and shove a wrench up your ass!

What was he going to say? If someone gets what??

Quote:
Mr. Severn: Jones has been requesting an outing. He thinks he's found something out in
Sector 9.
Miner 006676: Oh no, please! Anything but that dust sniffer!
Mr. Severn: I think you're headed out to that Sector anyway.

Sector 9? It's been sector 8 ever since - and Garith Yung complained on another occasion that Simon was flying where he wasn't charted. What is Simon up to?

Quote:
Miner 006676: We can make do with what we've have. Can you fly it? I have something important to
do.

And what might that important thing be, Simon?

Quote:
Miner 006676: Alright, let's see if you can fly. And when we're out there, no chatter! There's
going to be a rough spot before we get...

And what could the rough spot be?

And finally, it does kinda sound like the same Jones as in the new recordings we are getting.
