Well, we didn't have any training sessions before and we were faring pretty well. Since I know we don't care for the levels, let's just train while playing. Maybe some discussions on the pre-game lobby to know what we did wrong and what we did right.

yeah, i started doing it too, i'd respawn and just start running without waiting for everyone else

i think that the coagulation stategy we were trying would work better with teams of 5; 8 people was just insane! too many defenders to get past

*warthog and banshee go over to base together, ghost goes for rockets/ammo, guards teleport exit
*banshee pilot paradrops to flag, warthog passenger jumps to roof, warthog drives to teleport exit
*pilot throws flag to passenger, passenger jumps through teleporter
*pilot dies heroically Smile
*warthog picks up passenger, heads back to base for the cap

all while the sniper coordinates the whole affair from affar, this plan of course, relies on the warthog not getting attacked and blown up along the way, and the pilot is able to clear the flagroom first

I like this a lot! But I think it'd be better if one of the guys on the roof (maybe the banshee pilot) had the rocket launcher. There's nothing better than the rocket launcher+grenades from the roof, then shotgun when you're inside the room.

I like it, but I think the main weakness is in tossing the flag. Maybe its just me, but I can't make it work consistently.

I might recomend haveing the warthog pull up to the right hand ramp (by where the vehicles spawn) About the only thing I am good at in this game is moveing the flag out of the base. 9 times out of 10 I can get the flag into the basement hallway even if they kill me upstairs it usualy falls down the hole and takes a bounce into the doorway. If the hog was sitting there ready to either pick up the banshie paratrooper or to grab the flag once it was down stairs that would work well.

So this would be plan A. Its a good plan. Now as I always call plan A that which never works. What is plan B? What do we want to do once the hog has been blown up, our banshie is sitting ontop of thier base and somone has jacked our ghost? and even worse they grabed Twistedmatt's sniper and Krystyn's shottie.

That sounds like a good plan.

Another option would be:
*warthog and banshee go over to base together, ghost goes for rockets/ammo, guards teleport exit
*banshee pilot paradrops to flag, grabs flag and drops down the shoot (opposite the grav lift) and out the right side of the base (Right side when viewing the base from the front.)
*Warthog drives around the base to the Right side basement exit, Passenger exits warthog. *** MAKE SURE THE WARTHOG IS FACING TOWARDS YOUR BASE SO THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO TURN AROUND AFTER PICKING UP THE PILOT/PASSENGER W/ THE FLAG!!
*warthog picks up pilot, heads back to base for the cap

However should the Pilot die at any point AFTER dropping the flag down the shoot. Then The passenger picks up the flag and reenters the warthog, and heads back to base for the cap.

It's always good to have a plan that requires as few objectives as possible so that if something does not go as planned that it is a wasted effort. A good rule of thumb is to have N objectives but only need (N/2)+1 out of the N in order for it to be a success. To break it down for you, if you have 3 objectives then you would need a minimum or 2 out of the 3 in order to succeed.

I insist that on 8x8 games, the base has at least 3 guys inside the flag room, but it's common to find 4-5 guys there. You need to get more kills than deaths if you want high chances of getting the flag. Ideal way to approach the flag room is from the roof. It's a lot harder for the defense to attack than the opposite! When you're in the roof, you can throw grenades easily while the opposite is not possible. If you can't get rocket launcher there, then grenades plus shotgun is very effective.

I like the idea of using the teleporter because even if everybody gets killed, the whole respawn-run-to-the-flag game starts, but with the flag about 1/2 way to our base. When the flag is right outside our enemy's base, our enemy will spawn a lot closer to the flag than you do, thus making it harder for you to get there in time and contest the flag. If the flag is close to their teleporter exit, they can still get there fast, via teleporter, but at least that's closer to us, making thing a bit easier.
