Seeing as how updates are sparse and relatively meaningless progress-wise for the moment, how about looking towards the past.

Has anyone tried checking the archives for past stories? There's numerous references to incidents (the Corolla murder, hit and run, sofas in the stairwell incident) with approximate dates. Maybe there's something hidden in the archives. You know, by using the format, for example, .../archives/2005/04/hospital_mulls

We've already established there's a max 15 word (and space) rule for headlines and attempting to try it with the news in brief stories - the ones that originally go to the authenticate page brings something up, if only a blank page.

So do you think we might luck on something trying that method? Trying to guess a relevant headline for more information. Worth a try. To be frank, I'm getting a little bored now. It's one thing knowing what to do and getting stuck, it's another to not have a clue in the first place. Come on, Sente!

I have seen 1 article that was linked to a 14 digit filename. I think they noticed notice the 15 digis and thru one in wrongly to break up the pattern - or they had a typo, or there was a reason it only had 14 digits when all the others had 15.

There've actually been a few that had fourteen characters. The rule seems to be that they'll have fourteen characters unless the fifteenth character would be an underscore, in which case they use fifteen. Two exceptions to that rule: "Subdivision Provides Suboptimal Dining", which has four characters which have no obvious connection to the article, and "Council Accounts Questioned" which still hasn't been found, as far as I know.

I tried looking for some of the articles mentioned in various letters a while back, but no luck.
