Nice review! I'll rent this game soon and maybe we could play some co-op! That should be fun!

Quote:
Game play is said to be 15-20 hours, at least double Halo2, which I'm looking foward to. A lot of reviews says it gets repetative in the middle, but I'll let you guys know when I get there.

That's one thing I always thought it was never a problem with Halo2. Honestly, 7-8 hours (especially for a FPS) is more than enough for me. I'd love a proper ending, but the length of the game is good enough for me. I think I'm too much of a casual gamer to finish any game that is longer than 10 hours before losing interest. I don't remember finishing any game longer than this ...

I didn't have a problem with the length of Halo2, but I always enjoy longer games... makes me feel like I get the most for my money.

If you do rent it, let me know when you get it, and we can try the XBox Live Co-Op function. I think theBruce is the only other beekeeper I've seen with it, so I haven't had a chance to play with it. And I don't really feel like playing Co-Op with some random XBL Moron.

It might be a couple weeks (stupid end of the semester projects), but I'll definitely be giving it a rental at some point. I'll be sure to drop you a line when I do.

As a side note, I think I'm growing to like shorter games. On a limited budget, I appreciate a game that I can finish inside a week's rental or so.

Understandable. I don't rent all that often, so it's not as big of a deal for me. Usually, if I consider the game worth renting, it's worth buying, to some extent. And I'm patient... I'll wait for used games if I don't think they're worth the full price.

Ex-netflix user here, using blockbuster online coupons to rent games. Service for service, netflix seems to be a lot better! But, getting 2 free game rentals per month makes blockbuster deal very sweet! I have 1 coupoun for this month and will try to get Doom3, even though I'm enjoying Brothers in Arms right now.

I did the blockbuster thing for a bit too. The coupons almost pay for the monthly fee themselves if you use them on game rentals! Blockbuster charges $7 for a rental now, it's ridiculous.

But, I did find that at least here the Blockbuster movies always took two days longer to arrive than they claimed they would.

That depends on the location they ship the movies from. With Netflix, I'd get 1 day to get to the center and 1 day to come back, like 70-80% of the time. With Blockbuster, I get 1 or 2 days longer even though both companies have return centers on the same city! Plus, netflix has a better catalog and most movies are always available, while blockbuster has short wait quite often!

But what's pissing me off right now is the number of broken discs I'm getting from Blockbuster! During 3 years I've been with Netflix, I had around 4-5 shipping problems and only 1 was a damaged disc. This one was clearly damaged by USPS, since the disc and the envelope had a hole in it!! With Blockbuster, I got 3 damaged discs during my 1-month free trial!! And all of them were broken discs inside perfect envelopes, so I suspect they are shipping broken discs!

I'd gladly come back to Netflix if they offered a service like gamefly or something. The 2 coupons ($14 value) is just too good for gamers!

I'm doing Phaedra's job again, aren't I?

Sooooo....

Doom3 comes out next week. Supposedly they have Co-Op over XBL. (As well as Halo2ish Multiplayer.)

Are you thinking what I'm thinking, Pinky?

Yes indeed. I will be buying the game as soon as my current little crisis disipates. but you better bet yer rear that I'll be poping onlive for this game in august when i get to austin. I've been waiting for the game to come out on XB since last august when my roomate first got it bootleg for PC.

of course there were plenty of other things occupying my mind then... women, track, college.... and mabey ILB/Halo2 and all that fun stuff. Wink

definitely! I'm only a couple of levels in, and would be interested in starting from the beginning or so. Just send me a message if you see me on... I'll probably be on tonight, starting at 6:30 or 7ish.
