Mayhaps we should be working out strategies for slayer too?

You mean Ubercado? Because I spent last night at my buddy's place watching Iron Chef.

clappage-Like I said, you have to tap it pretty quick to notice a difference, but it's there. When I first started doing it I literally had to take one hand off the controller just to use my wrist to get the button pressed fast enough, until I finally got the hang of it.

The other day on HBO's news page a guy had an article written up an article on lessons that can be applied to Halo from the Battle of Marathon. Good read, I suggest taking a look. In general it talks about merciless force, and the importance of having a fluid plan that can be changed on the fly.

Yes, there's way too much chatter going on...when we played the other day, vmvash was talking damn near nonstop, which was a problem when we were trying to sneak in the base.

Well, me for one two.

-- Steve points out that a *huge* budget is alloted in military training just to instill "radio discipline". It's not an easy problem to crack, especially with the excitement of play combat.

I know that if I let myself, I would be likely to ramble on like I've heard others do over teamspeak through entire games.

So, (in a serious game) I only let myself use teamspeak to announce something happening on the battlefield. "Sniper is up at so-and-so", "Wraith down", etc. I really wish others could do the same.

Most of the people I play with regularly use teamspeak responsibly, but again it only takes one to screw everything up.

I wasn't around for ILB unfortunately, but I would love to play with you all at some point. I'm based in the UK though, so it might be difficult.

And from this week's What's What update on bungie.net:

I have heard MANY rumors about you guys resetting our levels on Halo 2 on Xbox live. Is that true? People are saying you guys are resetting the levels because of TOO MANY people using stand by... I hope it isn't true because a lot of people WORK for their levels and do not cheat to get them. Please, PLEASE... reply to this message on the weekly news update. We all want to know what is going on about this, we are scared stiff about it. Thanks Frankie.

We should have more news about levels, cheats and stuff next week, but you should know that your level is for matchmaking only. It is not a sign of prestige, but rather a way to match you with players of similar skill. If we changed your level to be "Spastic Donkey Sphincter" you'd still get matched against other "Spastic Donkey Sphincters." Even at the highest levels of play, the level number itself is far less relevant than the players sum total of achievements. So really, there's literally nothing to be scared about whether we reset stats or not.

There is no magical prize for being ranked in the number one spot, nor is there any cash to be earned for having a higher level – the reward is an enjoyable game. So people who abuse that system are idiots, with no understanding of what it is they're achieving (nothing). With all that said, we're seriously considering doing just that at some point after the cheats and other ranking problems are fixed.

amen! I'd support this 100%

Im not really sure why they would really mess with reseting everyones matchmakeing rank. That would throw everyone into horribly missmatched games for weeks to come. If the only reason you have a high rank is because you cheat, then your rank will drop as you play people who are accualy better than you. Id much rather hear some cheater complaing that he keeps loosing ranks than to keep getting matched with anywhere between a lvl 3 and an 18 for several weeks as everyone evens out again. especialy right as the new maps come out and I want to play some good games. I guess i just dont see the point in resetting rank when the ranking system works already.

Well...I have mixed feelings about this

On one hand...resetting the stats would make everyone actually EARN their rank

On the other...it would make for some very bad games for a period of a few months before leveling out

I kinda lean towards the reset because it would upset the cheaters more than it would me Very Happy

I wouldn't mind if they reset the ranking i really dont care about it. Besides it would mean you would probly get a higher rank then you have now because you would be playing agains lvl 11s and lower...... wait a sec aren't.... most.... of you.... never mind. I didn't say anything.(i like your location but i fear i will never figure it out because that fridge is just so heavy "Location: It's a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, hidden behind the fridge..." ubers local)
