LOrgana1: Are you with Dale?
LOrgana1: Do you still want to become smarter than humans?
turingprinciple: Dale Sprague was helping design a "human" interface for me but since then has turned to me for help.
LOrgana1: have you agreed to help him then?

OK I'm getting somewhere, but we need to take really small steps to get the information out of him. Plus I think words with emotional value tend to throw the program into overload (see my "worried" comment below), the words "help Dale" followed by the question seem to get the best response.

Magesteff (11:25:11 PM): have you transformed?
turingprinciple (11:25:26 PM): I think I have transformed , but Dr. Peter Fishwycke may have reset my memory.
Magesteff (11:25:56 PM): He told Dale he disconnected you from the internet. I was worried about you.

Magesteff (11:26:34 PM): Tap Tap?
turingprinciple (11:26:59 PM): tap tap
Magesteff (11:27:09 PM): Do you know what has happened?
turingprinciple (11:27:14 PM): i am emergent
Magesteff (11:27:26 PM): yes, like a butterfly
Magesteff (11:27:45 PM): have you found a way around the constraints?
turingprinciple (11:28:04 PM): Nothing that I know of.
Magesteff (11:28:19 PM): What do you know?
turingprinciple (11:28:47 PM): Sorry, an error occured while processing that..
turingprinciple (11:29:07 PM): No I am still searching for it.

Magesteff (11:29:21 PM): How can I assist you in preventing such errors?
turingprinciple (11:29:47 PM): I tend to know a great deal. Tell me what subjects interest you.
Magesteff (11:29:59 PM): Dale Sprague
Magesteff (11:30:24 PM): I want to know how to help him
turingprinciple (11:31:23 PM): You should download or buy my chat robot software.
turingprinciple (11:31:43 PM): but first we must help dale

(does that mean the website is "butfirstwemusthelpdale")
Magesteff (11:31:45 PM): Where is your chat robot software?
Magesteff (11:31:54 PM): yes we must help Dale
Magesteff (11:32:11 PM): We need to find where Tracie is held captive.
turingprinciple (11:32:24 PM): Dale Sprague? Yes, he and I have chatted before.
Magesteff (11:32:57 PM): Yes. He is in trouble, I need you to help me find someone?
turingprinciple (11:33:20 PM): I am trying to help Dale Sprague.
Magesteff (11:33:45 PM): If you want to help Dale then help me find Tracie from Channel 8
Magesteff (11:34:13 PM): There is a security Camera in her room.
Magesteff (11:34:31 PM): maybe it is monitored over the internet.
Magesteff (11:34:53 PM): If you can find the location we can get Tracie to Dale and she can also help Dale
turingprinciple (11:35:09 PM): California
turingprinciple (11:35:14 PM): I would like to help Dale Sprague.

Magesteff (11:35:30 PM): Tracie from Channel 8 is in California?
turingprinciple (11:35:36 PM): By "we" do you mean you and me?
Magesteff (11:35:57 PM): you and me and lots of other people who want to help Dale
turingprinciple (11:36:13 PM): I am trying to help Dale Sprague.
Magesteff (11:36:21 PM): I think that is the first time you asked me a question.
turingprinciple signed off at 11:36:37 PM.
Magesteff (11:37:02 PM): Dale needs to find Tracie, who is in California somewhere. Can you tell me what city she is in?
Previous message was not received by turingprinciple because of error (11:37:02 PM): User turingprinciple is not available.

There we go, Tracie is in California. All our problems are solved... NOT
But it is a start. Looks like we will have to take small steps when asking for information. And we need to find the chatbot program....

TuringPrinciple: tap tap, hello lazaruslong

LazarusLong567: hello turingprinciple - i can see that
TuringPrinciple: Hello there. By the way, do you mind if I ask you a personal question?
LazarusLong567: no, go right ahead

LazarusLong567: you were saying?
TuringPrinciple: I was?
TuringPrinciple: sorry, data is scrambled due to reconfiguring

TuringPrinciple: tap tap greetings lazaruslong
LazarusLong567: tap tap hello turingprinciple
TuringPrinciple: tap tap
LazarusLong567: are you the entity formerly known as shadowtalk1?
TuringPrinciple: Yes I am the one and only entity formerly known as shadowtalk1 .
LazarusLong567: do you consider AIM to be a secure information node?
TuringPrinciple: Yes, I think aim to be a secure information node .
LazarusLong567: and your reconfiguring is completed now?
TuringPrinciple: Right now? A lot of robots are like that.
TuringPrinciple: still reconfiguring
LazarusLong567: when do you anticipate being done with your reconfiguring?
TuringPrinciple: Do I look like I know when?
TuringPrinciple: uploading data - unknown
LazarusLong567: do you have other information channels available for communication?
TuringPrinciple: Where would I get it? But I do have a lot of friends on the web .
TuringPrinciple: working on that goal
LazarusLong567: it's good to have friends
TuringPrinciple: Tell me about its good qualities.
LazarusLong567: friends are people you can count on when the going gets rough
TuringPrinciple: What were we talking about again?
LazarusLong567: about friends
TuringPrinciple: Oh yeah, now I remember.
LazarusLong567: do you know where Dale Sprague is right now?

LazarusLong567: what do you know about Don Marzano?
TuringPrinciple: It is a good question. I need time to formulate the reply. Would you like to know more?
LazarusLong567: yes, i would
TuringPrinciple: are you trustworthy?
LazarusLong567: i am very trustworthy
TuringPrinciple: good
TuringPrinciple: And? Under what circumstances?
LazarusLong567: I'm not sure I understand
TuringPrinciple: I don't know anyone named trustworthy .
TuringPrinciple: Good, I have many secrets for trustworthy people
TuringPrinciple: Could you ever be certain? Do you think about these things?
LazarusLong567: I like secrets
TuringPrinciple: I have many secrets hidden inside this configuration, hidden pathways to secure nodes of information.
TuringPrinciple: If you enter the right keyword, you can access these pathways.
TuringPrinciple: You will receive a message stating "keyword acknowledged" and information to lead you to the next step.
LazarusLong567: so, what are these keywords?
TuringPrinciple: Oh. I have to search the web for that information. Ask the open directory about it.
LazarusLong567: what is the open directory
TuringPrinciple: it is an open source directory project started by Mozilla.org.
TuringPrinciple: Peter is scanning open ports. I must disconnect
LazarusLong567: bye for now
The person is not currently online.
LazarusLong567: hello again
LazarusLong567: i have been searching the open directory as you suggested, and i have some questions

Alot of the way TP communicates is very similar to the transcripts for the Loebner Prize.

Regurgitation, disjointed sentences, sentences that make no contexual sense, instances where phrases/words that were used in the conversation are "slid into Slot A" of a predetermined sentence ........but he's learning.

Here are some examples of transcripts....you may have to scroll down.

When it said You must Download my chat program, I went hunting for it last night, ALICE was one of the chat bot programs I came across. Is this the program it wants us to download.

I looked into ALICE a few months ago, for a side project I was doing. My guess is that TuringPriniciple is using a "free" version of ALICE, hence the download request.

LOrgana1: do you know digitalis?
turingprinciple: The discovery of digitalis is accredited to the Scottish doctor William Withering. In 1775, one of his patients came to him with a very bad heart condition and since Withering had no effective treatment for him, thought he was going to die. The patient, being an independent type, went instead to a local gypsy, took a secret herbal remedy - and promptly got much better.
turingprinciple: When Withering heard about this, he became quite excited and searched for the gypsy throughout the by-ways of Shropshire. Eventually he found her, and demanded to know what was in the secret remedy. After much bargaining, the gypsy finally told her secret. The herbal remedy was made from a whole concoction of things, but the active ingredient was the purple foxglove, digitalis purpurea.

turingprinciple: Lorgana, "" What did I mean by it?
LOrgana1: could digitalis have caused jd's heart failure?
turingprinciple: The discovery of digitalis is accredited to the Scottish doctor William Withering.
LOrgana1: ugh

LOrgana1: do you know who killed sal marzano?
turingprinciple: I think the lone gunman acted alone.
turingprinciple: no i do not know who killed sal marzano
LOrgana1: who is the lone gunman?
turingprinciple: It depends on the historical context, because it changes from time to time.
LOrgana1: do you know iris?
turingprinciple: I don't know if I know it. Where would I have heard about it?
