Leader Board is changing drastically

I think they are cracking down on colonys who used bots to increase their numbers or other cheating, which increases our chances and puts us back in the game!

I suppose that makes sense, although now I feel entirely stupid for joining a team that was so much of a cheater. DANG!

Hmmmmm but the gamem8ker said yesterday that Wucking Fankers where getting all their points from bonus' and not cheating....

So if so why would he crack down on them now..

Thats true. I think it may have actually been someone hacking again. Then again, I'm not very good at this stuff yet, so my opinion doesnt really matter that much.

Anyways, I know this is really unrelated, but I am brand new to ARG, and I was wondering if anyone wanted to help me get started and start having fun. I joined ourcolony on an email from a friend, and it seems pretty cool. Anyone want to have an apprentice for a while?

I don't think that the ARGolonists are going to lose many points, if any. As far as I can tell, we've all been playing by the rules, and we've submitted challenges and pictures, and we've solved the puzzles so far. If we do lose points, it probably won't be that drastic, but you never know.

This is very strange. Is gamem8ker simply docking the points which have been gained by cheating? If so, how? removing names which seem fake? We haven't had any points docked yet, luckily...

Or is he simply taking away a number of points that he thinks is fair?

He might be looking at IP addresses for each user... and allowing only one per tag. He might also be actually looking at the uploaded pics, and sorting through those. Finally, they may be changing the contribution / bonus rules, and working bugs out of the point system. I don't think these are just random.
