hey guess what i'm building i'm gonna be building a killer PC soon... but thats not the coolest part
it's solid black but with a window.. on this window on the left side will be the TheBruce's website's wasp facing right and on the right side will be the halo wasp facing left. it'll look like black decals on a window. inside on the left will be red lights and on the right half will be blue lights.... i may consider making a giant white Halo2 logo on the outside (the side w/o the glass of course)
anyways. rough specs..
Abit Guru 3rd eye motherboard.
160GB HDD (for now)
CD-RW drive
CD-RW/DVD combo drive
media card reader/floppy drive combo
AMD 64 3200+ CPU (i think.. i may or may not decide to go nuts and get the AMD 64 FX one)
i'm gonna aim for 2 or 4 gigs of ram... i'll probably stick with 1 1/2 for a while.
i believe i'll be getting a GeForce video card and a pinnacle card so i can hook a tv up to it.
i'm gonna run Windows XP x64 on it and run the workstation emulator so i can run linux off a cd on the 2nd monitor just because i can lol
i'm of course gonna get halo1 and 2 on it and mod the crap out of it and well... doom 3 and half life 2 too...
any suggestions?

my suggestion: give it to me when you're done
and fyi, technically it's not 'my' halo 2 wasp, it was created by Ceantari (must credit where credit be due)

Suggestions I don't believe that WinXP x64 is your best bet. My understanding (though this is about 6 months old) is that it doesn't run as well as the regular WinXP. I have an athlon 64, and had downloaded the beta version of the XP64, but all of the research said to stay away from it.
YMMV
Another cosmetic suggestion: Create a stencil with the Pious Flea Mantra:
Seek the truth
Behold the truth
Reveal the truth
That is the law and the whole of the law
Use the stencil to put multiple copies (using black paint) of the Mantra on the non-window side of the case. Let the copies overlap into illegibility in the central area, and then paint the HL-2 logo in white over that. Could be a lot of work, but would be a cool effect.

Re: Suggestions if the panels are real glass, you can get a glass etching kit at a craft store.
its an acid that you apply to the glass through a stencil, you get a very nice frosted effect from it
oh, and Centauri's image isn't a wasp... its a bee!

fricken genious lol
well i've seen reviews and stuff too but they said there is no real major difference... and once the final version comes out any driver problems should be solved just like when we went from 16 to 32 bit way back when.
and besides... i'm not totally worried about getting the absolute top notch quality
anyways.. would you be so kind to link me to a sample mantra pic or some sort so i can print it out to make the stensil

i put an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ CPU inside instead of a 3200+ so i'm happy... i haven't started working on the case yet so it still looks pretty plain.
whats this about a defender cabinet?

Check http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade.htm, http://www.ourvictorianhouse.com/CraigsArcade/Roswell%2088201/Roswell.html, and http://www.mindspring.com/~chrisnewsome/finished.html.
No imagine something like that only in an ILB theme.

silly me.. i shoulda figured you meant one of those when you said cabinet...
http://image.compusa.com/prodimages/50/84d794c9-e451-4107-a367-6d310ad62379.gif here's the case i bought... i could have gotten better but whatever.. once i get a dremel i can start cutting and putting the glass on... then i can start decaling and such... i'll still need something to base my Flea Mantra off of... i'm too lazy to look around for good examples. i've seen a nice flea mantra somewhere that i coulda made into a decal and overlap it like crazy but i forgot where... oh well... time to take care of my wisdom teeth

Mantra There isn't really a link or picture....it is just italicized text.
Go here:
