PK is PatomonKid isn't it? They looked in the nypost because of the trailhead sent to rgalliance.com, said the ad will be in the paper from Today until next Tuesday.

Yeah, that's PK all right. I guess he couldn't get to a computer. Anyway, that's quite interesting... This whole thing is quite interesting...

Gahhh, I wish so many games didn't interest me.

For people who didn't know, RGA got a letter in the mail. A To Do listing of some kind. Not really sure what it means yet, but the trailhead photo is over at www.rgalliance.com for those of you who are interested.

And there's too many blog entries. My head hurts...

read through the blog, good summary at IU.

noted the weird phone message in the blog. sounded like coordinates to me, so I worked up a grid with the alphabet (nothing else to work with):

. 1 2 3 4
1 a b c d
2 b c d e
3 c d e f
4 d e f g

but bigger. Using the 1-2. 1. 6-10. 13-7. 6-3. 19-3. 3-2. I came up with:
baoshud
which seems like garbage to me, but I thought I would throw it out there. maybe it anagrams to a city name. too tired to look at a list of cities in argentina...
eh, whatever

::edit:: anagrams to SODA HUB maybe Atlanta, GA? maybe he works for coca cola? or he is smuggling blow

Theres a huge discussion going on over at IU. This is definitely an arg and it looks really interesting.

K so RGA got a trailhead to-do list thing which had some shopping on it a reference to a blog and a bit saying about putting a ad in the NYpost. This was found and said:

HELP ME I need help finding my Fiance, JAMES. Missing since 2003. For more info on how to help, please visit http://ne1seenjames.blogspot.com
New York Post
Location:New York NY Area Code:212

http://ne1seenjames.blogspot.com is a huge blog and it looks like this woman called alesha has lost her fiance and has been trying to find him (his name is james) for 3 years.

Justlurking posted a really good summary of the blog:

Quote:
Alesha is the author of the blog. Her fiancee, James, went missing in October 2003 on his way from New York to California for a sales trip. On Dec 17. 2003, she received a cryptic message which she posted on the blog. This has been translated, but I'll leave that as an exercise for the reader. On Jan 28. 2004, she received a voicemail message with a bunch of numbers in it. That has not been solved yet.

From then to now, she's received a few emails from various people who claim to have seen him (first in Argentina, then in Mexico). She has gone to investigate, but has turned up no clues. On Friday (April 8, 2005), she got an email telling her, essentialy, that James is alive, doing bad things (gun running, etc.) and not to look for him anymore.

One more note. For a while she was seeing a therapist. Then, on Sept 3, 2004, she received a rose from James (who, apparently, had set up some system before he disappeared, to have a rose delivered to her every year on their anniversary). She had a breakdown. When she went to see her therapist, the office had been cleaned out. She had been suspicious of her therapist before, but this was the last straw.

She's away in argentina at the mo, but there's some puzzles to decode, the first one was like this letter with anagrams and it decoded to "You'll be best to forget james exists we have him now", then there's another which are numbers and nobody has solved yet I don't think.

IU also found this site called www.FACAB.org and think it's in game.

Sooo..... let's see what we can find out

Kender decoded the numbers puzzle here's the post:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Just add the numbers together.
Code:

1+2 = 3 = C
1 = 1 = A
6+10 = 16 = P
13+7 = 20 = T
6+3 = 9 = I
19+3 = 22 = V
3+2 = 5 = E

At 7:59 MDT, I got a phone call from a FACAB Agent. (The number was 'private') He asked "Is this *realname*?" and he said it was Agent *couldn't hear it* from the Federal Anti-Criminal Activity Bureau and asked me something like if I was associated with Alesha Periwinkle. I said "Yes, sort of. I've only sent her one e-mail." Then, he said something else that I couldn't make out and hung up.

And I just got a text message "I've told you once, I'll tell you again, James is Dead, ignore Alesha." The sender is <unknown>.

paper

The New York Post only costs a quarter. I would be happy to pick some up for people if anyone needs or wants a hard copy of the ad. PM me, or post here. I don't normally read that paper, so I haven't seen the ad myself.

I enhanced the photo, all I found was that the writer drank a cup of coffee at one time and set it on the list.

Got a reply to my e-mail a few minutes ago:
Quote:
Hi Corla!

I've just read Justin's email- just stepped in the door literally 10
minutes ago. As I told Justin, I didn't have much luck in Argentina,
except for 3 people that recognised him. Other than recognition I
didn't get much out of anyone. I guess he's still alive at least -
and they saw him no longer than 3 weeks ago! That's hope at least.
Maybe I still have a chance of seeing him again...

Also yes, Justin (if you're interested, his email address began with
'JustLurk') had emailed me with the decryption of the letter. I can't
believe I didn't advertise in the paper earlier!! You guys are
amazing, I stared at that letter for over a year without any thought
or idea of what to do with it.

Therapy - aah yes. Not my favourite topic of conversation.
Unfortunately Janice, my old boss and friend organised it all for me,
so I have no business card or phone number or anything. Strangely
enough, I can't find a listed phone number for him at all. I feel as
if the photos and the therapy and my memory loss are all
inter-connected, but I've never been one for conspiracy theories, so I
wouldn't know where to begin to piece these occurances together.

Though, I guess that's what I have you and your friends for Smile

Thankyou so much for contacting me. You have no idea how much this
means to me.

Oh and F.A.C.A.B - that's the agency that James used to work for. He
used to do some form of reporting thing for them, with databases and
such, before he quit and moved into sales. They're the Federal Anti
Crime something (I never knew what it meant), and they were helping me
try to find James for a short while, until they found 'evidence' to
prove that he was dead.

I'm sure you've read my blog anyway, and know my feelings on the
subject, so I won't bore you any longer - plus I have a load of emails
to reply to, and I must update the blog soon, before I fall asleep Smile

So thanks again for your help, and I"ll be sure to keep you up to date
with what happens.

Alesha

Speaking of e-mails:

Quote:

Alesha,

Your e-mail is being monitored. Be wary what you
write, and I would suggest trying to find another way
to contact those who want to help you and James.

Got a response of:

Quote:
My email is being what??!? By whom?? I don't have any other way,
except the blog- what do you mean? How are these people monitoring my
email??!?

What should I do? You must help me.

Nothing much, but contact is contact.

What's neat is Alesha is responding to each email sent to her with different content. not just a "Form letter"....Very nice. I will post mine when I get home but it is along the same lines as the one already posted. This looks really interesting
