Sun, sand, beautiful people, all that stuff is overrated.

I mean, you think you can get decent Chinese food in Bermuda? Huh? Think you can catch a Broadway show on the beach? Eh? What if you suddenly get a Grey's Papaya jones? What're you gonna do then? I ask you, what are you going to do!?

Dude, go to Bermuda.

Uhm, was there a chat on Monday?
Is there a transcript for those of us who's significant others are ARG-widows (and won't let us chat when they are home)?
Thanks.

The chat didn't really happen, and it really should be rescheduled soon. I was still in transit, Bags was doing his thing, and poor Rose was left Buellerizing alone somewhere in the irc ether. Sometime later this week?

Explanation:

I thought I'd have some time in my layover at Midway en route to St. Louis, so I emailed Krystyn asking if she wanted to meet up for a bite and a beer. Krystyn graciously agrees, but somewhere at 30,000 feet above the American midwest, our company manager makes us all aware of the fact that we will be landing manymanymany gates away from our next departure, so we have to rush, and that we don't have much time between flights anyway. I email Krystyn saying no go, don't take the trouble to go out to the airport... ALL the way out to the airport on the train... just to meet me. Said email goes to Krystyn's "trash" folder, which is just about right. Krystyn takes the train to the airport, wanders aimlessly for a while, emails me asking where the hell I am, I reply with phone call saying I'm at gate A13 waiting to board a 727 to St. Louis. Weeping, moaning, and gnashing of teeth ensue.

Of course, all this is compounded by my utter disregard for the aforementioned company manager's warning when I popped out of the terminal for a cig, meaning I was blithely unaware that Krystyn was probably stamping her feet no more than 20 feet away from me at some point.

It's just as well - I suspect that even for someone as nice and sweet as Joe, there is still brimming anger underneath the surface over the October 1st image. I probably extended my lifespan by missing the connection that day.

Huh? What just happened? I blacked out...oh yeah, I was saying, I'm so sorry we missed each other...

UPDATE!!

While you thought we were doing other things like working at our jobs, taking care of our families, picking up packages for Art of the Heist, we were secretly planning ARGFest....

And you thought we forgot all about you. Never, ever, never.

But, alas, I can't announce it all now. Or really any of it now. I have some fun stuff that I hope to announce in a week. Nothing is definite yet, but we are closing in on: events for Friday night (the ice-breaker) and Sunday morning (pac-manhattan, I hope, and some sort of brunch). And remember to keep Saturday afternoon and early evening open as well.

What we really, really need to know is how many people are going to be here. For why? We are trying to keep costs down and get small sponsorships by begging, pleading, selling our souls. For example: I don't want to end up having to say "well the first 15 people get brunch for free and the rest of you have to pay the full amount, because we didn't know how many of you guys were going to show up... and, we made these plans" or something like that...

Also we want to have silly, fun ARGFest-o-con prizes (not denominated in Lecks) for silly, fun stuff (please no Meta to discuss this, we are talking about doorprize type stuff) and we need some idea of how much we might need.

So please sign up on the wiki and PM Diandra to let her know for our count. This includes locals too.

Ghod help me, I've gone and booked my flights. Very Happy

Jet Blue was close to the best deal without much hassle and nice seat selection. Their website is pretty easy to navigate. Wasn't as cheap as the quotes a couple of months ago (I missed those $99 flights). Crying or Very sad

I'm taking a red eye from Las Vegas to JFK, just need someone to let me know what I do on Saturday morning when I arrive (in order to hook up with everyone). Wink

Well, if it's your intention to hook up with everyone, at least you're starting early.

Just missing out on the Friday night festivities.
Let me ask this in another manner. After I land at JFK, what do I do next? I've never been to NYC. I have not a clue where to go and how to get their (for the least cost but not dangerous).

Oh, and where/when is the poker game? I'd be up for it (or help start the second table).

So glad you're gonna be there! I mentioned the Airtrain in this post. That should connect you to the NYC subway system. Someone more familiar with the subway can tell you which line to take to wherever you want to go within the city.
