How does that sound to peeps?

Sounds good to me!

I also really recommend the system maps at transitchicago.com, to sort of gauge where ya wanna go in the city, and how easy it will be by CTA.

Hmm...will my tradition of crooning "A boy named sue" hold one more time?

I think so!!

I think Jinxie may have actually found our karaoke spot for us, so I am gonna do some recon and see how big it is, etc.

Wooty woot woot.

I am still trying to get Ed's to get back to me, but it's making me a bit annoyed cos there's a deposit for their party room. More news as I have it. I think I will bug them today.

Well, karaoke should be cool, as long as those that can't sing don't have to sing ... Yes, I'm one of those.

Back to my hotel search. Best deal I can get right now is a 3-star (Holiday Inn quality) close to O'Hare for $48/night. It has airport shuttle and fitness center. Another good offer is a 3-star close to Midway airport for $62/night. If you want close to downtown, best deal is a 2 1/2-stars (Holiday Inn Express quality) for $84/night. It's on North Michigan Avenue - Water Tower - Gold Coast area, which should be a good area. These are the best offers I found on hotwire.com.

karaoke! I'm all in for that.

I think everyone should have to sing at least one song. But that's just me. I'll be up singing until the tomatoes start!

*notes to self: bring extra changes of clothing, preferably in red, so tomatoes don't stain*

I am all for people having fun. Smile As long as there's no group numbers from Grease, I'll probably be pretty happy!

While I cannot be there, I would like to request that somebody do kareoke to Monster Mash.

It's one of those songs you really can't screw up. And loads of fun when you get a couple backup singers.

I'm weird.

Hahahaha... when I went on a cruise a year or so ago, there were a bunch of girls who sang "Summer Nights", and they had the DJ ask for guy volunteers to do the male parts... so there were 3-4 of us who got up and did it.

It was fun, I'd totally do that again. *plots*

Yeah, see, I abhor that number. Gaaaaaaaaaaaah.

As for "Stormy Weather," that would be fun! I do have a coupla tunes I bust out at karaoke on occasion, so hopefully the place I am going to go check out will have the ones I want!

Krystyn will also sing "Walking around the room, signing Stormy Weather, at 57 Mount Pleasant Street.."

Along with Pita, probably. Very Happy

Krytyn's Karaoke Recon

krystyn, I don't suppose they will have a list that could be linked or noted here? or maybe have their photo taken with an annoyed penguin? Some people like to figure out their songs ahead of time to practice... Wink

hey, Chicago better have its share of annoyed penguins, lab-assistant muppets, protocol droids, cows who can't spell, little pink anime chicks, chubby kids who love burgers, and other various and sundry characters in attendance!
