Perhaps the value Perplexians place upon intellect and problem solving is what the narrator of the video was talking about when she noted how our cultures have evolved along such different routes.

Yeah, and that would account for the culture shock.

as well as why america is being largely avoided. the culture of ignorance thats entrenching itself here must be quite vulgar to them.

(thus making it the pefect hiding place...)

had a waking dream this morning. (no, this might be good, really, wait for it)
the cube had been found, a way to transport had been discovered, and part of the prize was that a group of the finders (me included, woot woot) were invited to immigrate for a while to study at the academy.
in the course of being taken to the dorms, i got seperated, and ended up walking somewhere with a group of people.
i asked if this was the earth group, and one guy said no, but he couldnt wait to meet them. so i stuck out my hand, and said, pleased to meet you, im alex, alex (last name obscured).
the guy got goggly eyed, said, wow, you were on the retrieval team!

this is where it gets insightful. i responded " yeah, but i'm not good at puzzles. i more of an insightful leap of faith type thinker." (which is true)

the guy chuckles, and says, yeah, but it was that kind of thinking that found the cube, right? and schools out for summer.

hunh? (wake up to alice cooper informing me that schools been blown to pieces)

so... they are logic. puzzles. slot a goes into tab b, and slot b goes into tab c, but not until tab c goes into slot d. they focus on logic, possibly sacrificing "gut sense" in the pursuit of logic. after all, theres not an investigative cop out there that doesnt operate by hunch and unconnected evidence. could this be why they cant solve the puzzle themselves? they dont think that way? look at what happened with aiko. they find shes recon, nab her, question her, let her go. no following her, no phone taps, no looking at her connections, just nab and question. direct. logical. puzzle solving. NOT FREE FORM THINKING.

Really? Well, for all those of you under 16 (and a lot of you under 18 ) I guess that's fantastic news. Stay in bed tomorrow; the Alice Cooper Public Information Service has spoken Smile

Nice Leakers! Very nice observation. I have given up trying to second guess the PMs, but this feels like a basic assumption that a lot of things could be based on. Like a first principle.
