[SPEC] The watermark on the blob pics

Hi. First timer here. I am not joined in any colonies yet, save mine, which is a small colony consisting of 5 of my friends.

Anyways, you're so not going to believe this. You might even think I'm crazy. But here's the deal. I think the watermark on the blob pics in ourcolony is......
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The picture of Xbox 360. (Yes. The actual console.)

Shocked HOW COULD'VE THIS HAPPENED?!?! I mean, it's the pictures that we take for granted everyday, right? I mean, this is huge!

To see what I mean, check out the edited picture of the blob. You notice that I've drawn the green smudge with lines. I was guessing, either this is a picture of the console or the logo. Then this article pops up today:
Quote:
British sources have confirmed that the next generation Xbox is indeed called Xbox 360, that the logo is a simple, round nexus, and that the console itself has a concave design - and a platinum white finish. [...] The name of Xbox's successor is Xbox 360, we can confirm, and the design of the machine is indeed a concave shape. The machine can stand upright and hollows in at the middle, like it's "sucking in its cheeks," our source told us today.

So it's got to be the real thing.

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm not really seeing it.

Good Spec. Congratulations. It would be really nice if someone could extract the watermark or disentangle it from the original image. Prolly someone with photoshop? Otherwise, time will tell if you're right.

photoshop won't necessarily do it, easiest way would be if it had layers, but a jpg is a flat image

Can PS take two images and highlight differences between them? Since we have some of the originals... then again, I'm a total noob with digital imaging.

Anyway, this is no homerun, but it'll be interesting to see if indeed this is the new Xbox "Hidden in plain sight"

I know photoshop pretty well but I don't think you can subtract one image from another, does anyone have flash; maybe the blob itself is multi layered? Though I'm sure another post said no.

I've looked at the blob a lot today and there's definitely a common overlay but it's impossible to tell what it's a distortion of (if anything)

it's an swf file, which won't have the layers. you'd need that program to decompile it, and that only might give us something of use.
there probably is a way to botch what we're looking for in photoshop, but i've got no clue how to go about it

well, the interesting thing about the orb is that when it is saved to your local machine and opened in either flash mx 2004 or flash player is that it opens a different image every time. So, that means that all of these orb images on the front page are actually embedded into one flash movie file.

Also, I took a shot at messing with the Power button orb image in Photoshop. It looks as though it was sphearized, or however you spell it.

I can tell from PS that all the "base" images have been spherised. The image "on top" of that looks like it's been spherised and maybe "twisted" a little as well, interesting that they're all in the same file, can anyone take it apart?

I scaled and sphered the ant image to match the flash blob exactly. I'm not sure exactly what to do with it from here but I have uploaded it and the ant sphere so anyone who wants can mess with it and see what they can extract.

If the image had been saved as a .png then it would have been easy to take appart...

Being flattened into a jpg... Somebody waaay more skilled then I will have to try it.
