Hrm... I took the symbols from the first page of the thread (not having winZip on this PC). So that would explain the errors. I'll fix it up/get rid of it next time I'm online/logged in.

I know this is unrelated (apparently, since you're saying something about Project Gateway, which I have no clue about), but for some reason, though there's no similarity whatsoever, these images make me think of the Shin Megami Tensei video game series (or "MegaTen).

Basically what you need to do is replace every symbol with the correct letter.
1st thing I did was replace the symbols with letters. The first one I encountered I called a, the second one b, etc.
That gives you the nonsense words like 'lpcfbrqpml'.
This step is done because most software to work with these codes only works on letters.
Then I tried using decrypto. That program uses a dictionary to find words that 'fit'. So in the case of 'lpcfbrqpml' it will list all words where the 1st and last letter are the same and where the 2nd and 8th letter are the same, while all other letters are different. It comes up with 'earthquake', 'sepulchers', 'stimulates' and 'stipulates' as possible answers.
Then I used de-crypto.co.uk which allows you to play around with the different letters. After some fiddling with that I got the solution I posted above.

could these pictures somehow link together to show a bigger drawing? We will probably need another one to get the wider picture.

about the last two files that were sent.

I think the lines are the important part of it - I think all the lines will line up ones we get all the pieces.
