[Out of Game] Human Clock on 4-14-05

I waited and waited for someone to mention this... but no one did. Finally I decided I'd bring it up... so i created this user to tell you, and decided to become and active user versus just a fly on the wall.

Just as well... I dig the ARG scene.

So here's the deal. Did no one (besides me) see the code that was below yesterday's "Artsy title photo" on Human clock?

If you go look now, it's gone (but the same picture remains). Anyway, I DID see the code yesterday. I can only tell you that the results were extremely interesting. I'm awaiting some further results, so I won't devulge yet... but I thought I'd at least spill the question since no one seemed up to talking about it. Maybe you all have interesting info to tell?

Quite frankly what I discovered is EXTREMELY interesting... but potentially coincedental. Therefore, I hold my tongue for now... I'd hate to give out info that would result ing some poor shlup in Portland, OR getting tons of strange phone calls in the case that it DOES turn out to be coincedence... and dang good coincedence at that!

Until then, did anyone else run with the code? (By the way, the code had DEFINITE meaning... but perhaps Daniel (Craig) from Human Clock was just messing with us?)

Any way you can divulge exactly what was interesting about it without giving out the phone number?

Fair enough, I can give some...

Research took me to a site... which forced a login. Being that the code is extremely common due to Wargames the movie, the site I ended up at could have little to do with ourcolony... still what I found was too coincedental to just ignore.

I came to a login. But seeing as I discovered wargames, and a friend from my colony is well versed in wargames, we figured the login easy. Suddenly many screens flashed quickly... returning today I see that the flashing has been slowed down. Hmmmm...

Anyway, back to my story. Many screens flashed quickly, until I got to Page 8 (Notice the number... 8 seems to be a favorite for gamem8ker, so I thought that ALSO coincedence). Page 8 says Greeting Professor Faulkin. Yup. The line from Wargames. I was stuck here. However, with a little more research, I was left with a single phone number. Seeing as how I'm in the telecom industry (I own a company that writes billing software for telephone/internet companies) I have access to check the number. THe number is a valid number for... that's right... Portland, OR. Yup. Same place as our good friend at Human Clock. Coincedence? You judge.

So what did I do? I called it of course (Wasn't sure what I'd say if someone actually picked up... luckily no one did). Turns out it seems to be a cell phone. (Come to think of it now... I can find out for sure the TYPE of line it was tomorrow in my database). Anyway I left a nice message: "Greetings, this is Prof. Faulken. I think I got your message. Please return my call at XXXXXXXXX" Still no return, but I also wrote Human Clock a message. Anyway, what egged on the idea that it could be related (of cource purely circumstantial) was that the voicemail recording was of the auto-computer type. "The number you have reached, XXXXXXXX, is not available. Please leave a message after the tone" How many people still use that when they could just record their own? It's not too common anymore. I've called 4 times since. Nothing new, nor have I received a call yet. Strange I never get anyone.

Anyway, for fear that it is someone's personal phone, I don't want to give people enough to figure it out and start calling until I'm sure. (The manner in which I got the phone number was... creative. So it very well may be unrelated entirely)

Cheers

Sounds to me like too much to be a coincidence. I'll have to start checking out humanclock. Not sure why we kind of cast humanclock out as not related yet it was linked from ourcolony.

Good find NobleKain and keep up the good work.

Not so apparent, but someone in the topic right above has noticed the code......

Did anybody catch what was posted under the current picture on humanclock.

CPE1704TKS was only on there for a day and then it was taken down. It looked out of place for the picture. Research found that it is from Wargames and was the code for starting the game or launching the missles. I'm still curious what the connection is to this web site. There has to be a point and I think that the fact that the guy keeps teasing about not having clues only proves his involvement.

Its actualy the final missile code in war games Wink

Its a little suspect as there was a picture of a nuke going off on the colony site the other day.

Well NobleKain I found the site you were referring to, but i found 6 different phone numbers.

I called all of the numbers and got this message.

Your call cannot be completed as dialed I S U P 0154006 announcement 24.

All of the phone numbers had the area code 311 which is not for any city, and is only listed as "Reserved for special applications"

All ofthe numbers actually went to the exact same machine, if i called one, hung up quickly and called another, i would get a busy signal.

Very strange.
