I'm wondering if the AACI object is actually not in the box with the fans, but outside - like we're looking through the fans to something in the room on the other side. Not sure what the significance is, though.
Also, the white marks on the picture got me thinking of a couple of things...first, they almost look like punch marks on an old computer punch card. (wow, how old am I that I remember those - not that I've actually used them...) Looking closer, they seem to come in two flavors - one mark that is rather narrow, and another which appears to be double the width of the narrow mark. There may be a pattern there, but haven't come up with anything yet.
Or, perhaps the marks are creating a mask of sorts...if the marks are cut out of a paper copy of the picture, and placed over some piece of text, certain letters are revealed that make up a message.
Just some random thoughts...

There are so many links to Chicago throughout this game, could just be where the PMs are I guess.
The start flash of that MS E3 site has several rows of circles which reminded me of the circles background image you get from ourcolony

It was a barcode ;]
And it may either be aaci.org or aacl.org. Nothing to do with semiconductors or anything like that.

not that i'm paranoid by any stretch, (i actually think it'd be cool) but just one interesting point here. couldn't they theoretically have our phone numbers after all that?
i mean, we've talked for a while about their inability to contact us directly, and it would cause a bit of confusion if people all of a sudden came on and said that they were called by the gamem8ker.
just a thought.
(let the false posting begin!)

Well we've got the answer now:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
reset reality.
The number formed from the barcode was a telephone number, giving a message containing the answer.
For the record, there appears to be a link with the microsoft e3 press registration site.

here
The flash intro says "hit your reset on reality"

ok. But that's not the whole message. What's the significance of the rest of it? The rest of it is:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"reset reality...message 512"

youre probably right. but why repeat the date we already know? I was sorta thinking since the picture was of computer guts (or console guts) that it had something do with memory (256k, 512k, etc)

According to most of the "leaked" documents, Xbox 360 is reported to have only 256mb of RAM. Check out IGNs details http://xbox.ign.com/articles/595/595535p1.html
It's on page 2 I think.

The XBox 360 is apparently now going to have 512mb of RAM on it.
The old number was 256, but that apparently has been bumped up in the past couple of weeks.
Makes sense- bumping up RAM is a easy and simple way to increase the power of the console (especially if it is going to have a huge head start on the PS3 and Revolution).

I don't bite...
I've called that number plenty of times already. Not once (really) did I hear the phrase you'll find in the spoiler. Sure, the answer was correct... but It's not from the phone call. There's only one word before the "MESSAGE 512" statement, and that word sounds like "THE"
Anyway, so it still begs the question... HOW did people arrive at that answer... meaning those that actually GOT the answer, versus using the spoiler (like me). Actually, I didn't even use the spoiler... instead someone posted a link to the flash intro to MS E3 '05, and following that, I used variations of the catch phrase till I got it.
Still, the MS site isn't directly related to the challenge. So how was the challenge used to come to the answer?
