[NEW] Atlanta Op

Looks like a straightoforward infil. Not too many details, Nisha has picked out the target.

My hunch was right. More later, need to maintain OPSEC until post op.

COMPLETE

The OP went smoothly. J5 was the infiltrator, I took security overwatch and Meghan was the distraction!

Nisha is extremely attractive. I had to keep sipping my Waffle house coffee to stay focused on her briefing.

Part of her plan, which was brilliant, was the use of Treos on a secure conference call for communications. The earpiece mics picked up a lot of background noise, but the innocuousness of it was superb.

There was a moment when j5 was approached by the general manager of the dealership while rifling the A3. And Meghan came close to signing up for a $129,000 A8.

A few tense moments, but we were in and out in under 30 minutes.

Yeah. We were in and out of there in a short amount of time. I was running out of things to ask about the A8. I'm sure the salesman thought I was really stupid. Oh well. We got the job done and got presents for doing it.

And yes, Nisha is very pretty.

Oh...I almost forgot....what are you guys (val and j5) gonna do with your presents?

Meghan

Congratulations on a job well done! As I missed the whole damn thing, did any of you get photos? And what were your presents?

And a swank Last Resort pin! If you don't want your pin I'll be happy to give it a good home.

Badges?

Pin? I don't recall a pin, unless it was buried in the Treo box.

J5 said the treo box was wrapped in brown paper with the LRR pin holding the paper together.

Then J5 got the lucky box, I did not see any pin on my box.

I will post the play by play.

Atlanta Play By Play - 1

1300 EDT - Peachtree Industrial Blvd, Atlanta, GA

A Waffle House one block north of the Jim Ellis Audi dealership and directly across from a GM van assembly plant. Ironic.

I arrived at the same time as Meghan, backed into my parking slot after having made the target on the way in. Meghan proved to be one of thoe honey blonde southern girls, probably used to wrapping men around her finger with her soft, subtle accent. She popped out of her Civic and eyed the parking lot.

I figured that the time was right and slid out of the Doom Bugy and rolled into the restaurant. A quick scan of the interior revealed our Nisha, back to the wall in the corner. Amazingly dark hair framing a slightly heart shaped face. Her eyes were green, but covered with cosmetic contacts.

I nodded, eyeballed the Waffle House again and moved to her table. "Over Easy?" I intoned, trying to be suave. She smiled, slightly and a slid into the booth across from her. She had four waters and a plate of eggs set before her. A small mead spiral notebook was before her. She seemed edgy, anxious.

"Do you prefer Val or Jett", she inquired.
"Either is fine."
"Then you're Val." Strightforward, no nonsense, she was dead on serious. She was wearing a cropped sleeve top over a dark camisole (heaven help me for remembering). It was simple, practical and revealed a fit form and smooth skin. Eeek. I think I know why Virgil is obsessed with her. I asked for a cup of coffee, I needed a distraction to keep my eyes from lingering on Nisha.

Meghan arrived next. It was only a moment after me. She offered up a disarming smile and seemed very cool, despite her stated nervousness on the posts. "I've brought some other clothing items, if necessary". Good thinking, I felt a little out of place. Should have brought a slightly cooler set of clothes. Atlanta had started out cool and then warmed up under a brilliant April sky. Meghan slid in on the inside of Nisha and promptly ordered some has browns.

Nisha was eaegr to get under way. She had opened her notebook and abortively started the brief at least twice. J5's absence was getting to her. He was the best known to her and it was unnerving.

Minutes later he arrived, lean and casually dressed. He had longish dark hair and an intense gaze which set well with the intensity of our operation. This was broad daylight, along a six lane divided highway in plain view.

Nisha opened her book and started the brief.
"the showroom is small" she started. Apparently the A3 was possibly going to be on display in the main showroom of the dealer. There was one active security guard and an unknown number of other obstacles.

The plan was straightforward, I was to proceed first to eyeball the site and provide security overwatch. Meghan was then to saunter in and corner the salesman posted near the A3. Nisha suggested that Meghan steer him to the 129,000 A8 parked in the northernmost corner of the show room. Once this was accomplished, J5 would enter showroom and get in the relatively untended A3. From there he would rifle the car and hopefully locate the SD card.

A few problems, there were three Audi dealers in Atlanta. All on the north side and Gunter's guys could easily cover them all. Would we encounter a friendly little conversation back to the rendezvous? Would the SD card be gone? What was the dealer to make of all this?

Atlanta Play by Play - 2

We reviewed the plan again. I was to traverse a ditch between a Mitubishi dealer and the Audi lot. Nisha had binoculars for me, I brought my own but preferred her compact model.

She had also devised an ingenious method for maintaining communications. She produced three Treos. On each one was a contact for Ian Net teleconferecing. We dialed in, entered the pass code and voila. Instant secure communications! This is so freking smart, I will be turning it in to DoD as a lesson learned.

The provided ear buds allowed for innocuous hands free communication and with all the cell phone rangers wandering around, no one would be the wiser! Who would have thought that general incivility would provide our essential cover?

Nisha dispatched me after a short voice check. I sauntered to Peachtree Industrial Boulevard (a very pedestrian unfriendly place) and crossed the seemingly endless lanes of traffic.

As I headed south towards the overwatch post, I heard Meghan depart the WH. It was clear and bright. The dealership was relatively deserted, I imagine most folks were recovering from filing their income tazes or hip deep in little league and yard work to visit a car dealer. This could be good or not so much.

Dropping into the ditch I found good cover from the Mistubishi dealership and clear lines of sight onto the lot and into the showroom. I made the security guard, a tall, lean African American with short dreadlocks and those "you are in a lot of trouble" aviator sunglasses. He looked like he got up, ate breakfast and then made people cry.

Meghan moved briskly down the walk and into the dealer. I could not make out the A3 and there were no others in the lot. I sidled along the concrete retaining wall keeping an eye on the security cameras on the Mitsubishi side and the Audi side. Luckily the ditch was not covered by their views and had been recently cleared.

I practically heard the salesman drool on the floor when Meghan asked to see the A8. She was playing "poor little rich girl" and the salesman must have thought he had died and gone to heaven for the chance to sell a $129,000 car.

J5 was also fast approaching his post. He walked briskly, purple shirt clearly visible even without the binos. Taking up a position southwest of the showroom, he was to enter through the south doors, which were one of three sets opening up onto the lot.

The security guard was making a fairly regular trek and it all looked very good. Nisha gave me the green light to enter the lot and provide back up against the security guard. I only took comfort in knowing that my dental insurance was paid up.

Atlanta Op Play by Play - 3

I had entered the lot from the northeast corner. Slowly walking the line of cars, I dreaded being hopped on by some over eager salesman. J5 was in the A3 now and looking hard for the card. Nisha was providing suggestions. I could hear Meghan roll through endless questions about the A8. The salesman was jabbering happily away, causing some confusion over the circuit.

Suddenly, the general manager approached J5 in the car. I thought we were busted and rounded the corner from the service bay and started for the door. I could hear Meghan go quiet on the circuit. Nisha was barkign for information.

After a pause I could hear J5 say "Yes, a brochure would be great". He then came on the line and told us that he still couldn't find the card. We didn't have much time. The GM was sure to give J5 the hard sell.

Meghan's sales guy had started up again and the channel was noisy. It was at this moment I noticed the security guard entering the building. Crap, he was stationed adjacent to the A3 and scrutinizing the ONLY two customers in the showroom, Meghan and J5. It was showtime.

I rolled in the north door waving an ADC map of downtown Nisha had given me as a prop. In my best, I'm not from around here, voice I flagged down the guard.

Practically colliding with him. I began to pepper him with questions about the Audi tent at the Atlanta auto show. Half dragging, half leading him to a vacant desk opposite the A8, I laid down the map and asked for directions.

It seemed like an eternity. The chatter in my ear was non-stop. I even pulled out my Treo and pretended to call my spouse. The guard was helpful, if not a little bewildered.

Nisha's voice finally cut through the din to get us to knock off the chatter. It was then I heard the blissful news. J5 had the SD card. He was hightailing it out of the dealership.

Nisha gave Meghan and I the "time to go" cue. I thanked the guard and walked straight out the door I entered. Slewing my eyes left, I caught sight of the lucky purple shirt of J5.

A minute later Meghan could be heard saying goodbye to the salesman with a plaintive, "I'll call my daddy". I think I actually heard that guy's heart break.

Wow...Val---you are doing a stupendous job of recounting the events of today. I almost feel sorry for that salesman who tried to sell me the A8. I honestly believe he had no idea what was up. Poor guy.

I got a pin on my present. It was attached to the twine. Look again. It's very small.

I hope Nisha posts some pictures or video clips soon. I wanna see how silly I look/sound.

Atlanta Play by PLay - 4 (final)

We were all walking up the road towards the light and the Waffle House. Spacing was about 80 meters and I occassionally scanned for followers. I half expected a big sedan with Jersey plates to roar out of one of the other car lots. We were horribly exposed.

J5 made it back to Nisha's Audi first. I crossed a little farther down and called to Meghan to cut early. Dodging the inattentive Atlanta drivers, we finally converged in the WH parking lot. I dropped into the back seat of the Audi with out of state tags. J5 was riding shotgun.

A second later, Meghan popped open the door and slipped into her seat. Nisha displayed the SD card like a war prize. She slid it into her Treo and started the upload.

It was the first time I saw her relax a little. Whatever schedule she was keeping was catching up with her. Each of us was relieved. The whole execution was only thirty minutes. It had seemed like weeks at the time.

Nisha indicated she had something for us. Opening the trunk, she removed a non-descript duffel. Inside were three plain brown boxes. A sinister thought briefly crossed my mind. If what we took was going to the wrong side, what better way to "eliminate" the help than with a special package.

Fortuneately, my paranoid moment passed. We exchanged exhilirated handshakes, cognizant of the fact that we weren't more than 500 meters from the scene of the crime.

At that point we each strolled to our own cars. Nisha slipped into her Audi and headed south. Mission complete, time 1345 EDT.
