For those who are interested in the Keyhole mapping, here's a sample I whipped up showing my hotel and the Fogo de Chao restaurant and a sample zooming in on the restaurant.

I know this is not up to me, but I found a restaurant that has food most people like, a full bar, and karaoke from 7:00 pm-1:30 am. They don't seem to have a website, but here is some information. It's called Midori.

Also, are we doing this on Saturday night?

What say ye?

I'll check that out, along with the other place that Jinxie found for me.

If we ever do update the lists, put me on the "expressed interest" list? Smile

Cool

Sure thing. Smile

I went home ill from work today, and then ended up sleeping for a while, so I hope to work on the website tomorrow. I am too nauseated (pinched nerve?) to really concentrate on anything too involved.

i'm sorry to hear that Krystyn! i hope you feel better

can i just say that i have the greatest fiance in the world? with everything that we're dealing with right now, she's telling me that she wants me to get away for a weekend to Chicago next month, even though she's too sick to go herself. And if we can afford the trip, she'll even schedule her surgery around it! I love that woman!

That's really sweet. *smiles* My girlfriend is willing to go with me even though she disdains all things Halo Smile She knows how much I dug the ILoveBees thing, and is hoping there'll be other Halo Widows to converse with... however, if the weekend turns out like I think it might, there might be little halo discussed, and a lot of fun for everyone.

Still hoping to hear from Water100 on the whole hotel-location thinger, before it's tooo laaaate....

My wife particularly hates when I'm playing halo and then go to the computer and leaves the xbox on halo with the main theme playing. She just can't stand that song anymore! Laughing

Patience, my friend! Hotwire still have the same offers there, give or take 1-2 dollars. I'm really tending to accept the $84/night (which is most likely Raphael Hotel) just because of the location! My wife didn't like the idea of staying on 2 different hotels when she realized she wouldn't have a place to take a shower and dress up for the karaoke bar on Saturday night ...

Stay tuned. I should define something soon. But, don't hold me responsible if we both end up with no place to stay!! Laughing

I'm going to Chicago!!!!!

Ahem...I mean, it appears that, barring any last minute emergencies, I will be able to join you all for the hivemeet in Chicago. I finally got a job to ask off from and I've submitted my request for leave and had it approved. Just as long as they don't forget about it and schedule me anyway (which isn't completely out of the question) I should be able to make it. I hope you don't mind if I bring my wife along. She's technically a crewmember (seaman recruit T-Bird) so it counts, right? Smile So you can add me to the "going unless screwed over by employers" list. See you in Chicago!

I am officaly kicking myself. Last night I was flying home from a buisness trip and the plane was overbooked. They offered a night in a hotel and a round trip flight anywhere in the US. It was late and I was tired, and I just couldnt think of anywhere I would want to fly to at that moment. I mean, i never go anywhere, where would I want to fly to....hmmmm..... damit.

OUCH! I'm sorry, that sucks. That would have been an excellent way to get to hive meet.

Schedule another business trip and hope it happens again?

Water100 - rather than wait for the perfect timing for yourself, perhaps you can post instructions to the rest of us on how to fidn the rate for this hotel, and some of us might be willing to pay a bit more. Smile I don't know how much you expect it to drop or anything, but that way we'll get maximum peoplage.
