Coldplay album art - promo puzzle

According to ClearChannel syndicated news (ugh, I know):

British rockers Coldplay's highly anticipated third album is to be packaged with a cover featuring color-coded blocks which combine to reveal a secret code.

Bosses at the record company Parlophone hope the intrigue surrounding the 'X&Y' disc's artwork will pique the interest of fans all over the world as they try to find the hidden meaning concealed in the eye-catching design.

The global marketing campaign will begin later this month in anticipation of the album's release on June 6 - Parlophone executives anticipate 'X&Y' will sell more copies than the 10 million units 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' sold worldwide.

Reading this, I immediately thought of you guys. Hope this is an okay place to post this. Get cracking!

EDIT: Click on the image to see it in full quality. Guess the site likes to squish the preview a bit so it's less clear.

Just in case that article disappears one day, here is what they say about the solution:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Now fans have cracked and revealed that the actual blocks are graphical representations loosely based on a binary code known as 'Baudot', which generates a base5 binary representation for each letter or character in the western alphabet (obviously).

The code was created by Frenchman Emile Baudot in 1870 and at the time was used in telegraph systems and teleprinters. The code is built up of five bit characters (originally binary numbers i.e. five digit combinations of 1 or 0, but in this case made up of coloured blocks) each of which represents a different letter or number.

As for what the single and album cover actually mean? Well, its not secret love note from Chris to Gwyneth, nor a message of advice to their baby Apple, and its not even a plug for Make Trade Fair, in fact the covers just say the release's names 'X&Y' and 'Speed Of Sound'.
