[Press Inquiry] BBC looking for players to interview

Colin Lennox, a Director on BBC2's THE CULTURE SHOW, is developing an idea for his show, and is interested in contacting British based reality gamers to talk about the phenomena. He is specifically interested in gamers involved with Perplex City.

PM me if you're interested in being interviewed and I'll get you in contact with him.

If he wants an Oz POV and will spring for a ticket, I'll be over in time to join the circus at Greenwich! And I've got a place to stay in Brixton aye!

Off-topic post

lol u sed slough

soz it was a lame half-baked attemept at kind-of-wierd British humour.

Apparently we Brits have a wierd sense of humour compared to... well... everywhere. Show a (translated) episode of Blackadder or Fawlty Towers or Porridge, or anny classic Brit comedy (that counts Red Dwarf out) to a European, for example, and they just won't find it funny. They get why it's meant to be funny, but don't think it is. Anyway, I think Red Dwarf is too wierd to be funny. Which is why, incidentally, I started my post with a sort of off-topic humour thing, in a kind of ironic **** you to all Red Dwarf fans. I bet you found my first sentence funny. I bet you did. That reminds me, has anyone ever seen Black Books? This is kind-of spiting the thread starter, too, since you are obviously a BBC comedy fan, and Black Books, which is the funniest comedy in about 20 years, is exclusively produced and published by Channel Four. Four is the best channel. It has Scrapheap Challenge, which you Americans will recognise as Junkyard Wars (ugh), in which two teams of budding engineersare pitted against each other to build something or other entirely out of the junk found on the landfill site the game is situated on. It also scored points off the BBC (grr) by outbidding them for The Simpsons, which is, apparently the most watched family primetime weekday show in the UK. Although I must hand it to the BBC for producing a great new series of Doctor Who. I sacrifice a whole hour of my valuable time every Saturday at 7pm to tune in to BBC2 and watch this funny, inspired show, which is apparently the biggest production by BBC Wales ever. I saw an old 50's blue police box once. I was on holiday in Yorkshire with some family friends when we saw a blue police box. I pointed and said, "look, it's the TARDIS!" Oooh look, I'm talking like wossname on The Now Show (radio 4, Fridays at 6.30 and Sat 12.30), ut that series has finished now. Little Britain s2 was too gruelling by far. Much better on the radio like Dead Ringers was. It's quite frankly rubbish when televised. the team are so good at voices that it's ruined by the faces.

I digress.
I am a brit who lives in London, but I'm new to the ARG scene, so I would have no idea about the questions!

Oh yes and the question "has anyone ever seen Black Books" still stands.

You do indeed digress. A lot. Smile

Uh, I have seen Black Books, like Red Dwarf, didn't find your first sentence that funny (no offence) and am also part of the Little Britain Backlash movement.

Oh, and the new series of Dr Who is on beeb one.

You brits can't claim humour as your own. Father Ted is Irish(mostly), just so happens C4 made it.

The notion of speeches in the same style as this thread on The Culture Show scares me.

How does boobies boobies boobies grab you?

Anyway, yes, black books rocks, red dwarf is amusing, scrapheap challenge is good (esp the scrappy races series, i did like the green machine or whatever those women were driving), blackadder is comedy genius (anyone seen that programme on in the states with Hugh Laurie playing a non-comedic role, and with an american accent?! What's up with that... Apparrantly it's become a bit of a hit...), Little Britain is a big pile of dog's crap, I just don't understand it (well, okay, I'll admit that the ones with the guy in the wheelchair can be amusing... but still, i dont know what all the fuss is about).

Also, Dave Gorman is brilliant Very Happy
