Sweet! New maps coming up, and update already here! I wanted to get on last night, but I was feeling not-so-good, and ended up in bed early.

Hopefully I'll be on most nights this week though...

i'd like to see a heartbeat/breathing view added to the sniper rifle, i've seen other games do this effectively, move the scope to fast, and it jumps around all over the place and then rocks up and down until your breath and heartbeat slows to normal levels again, that would really even out the weapons and make sniping even harder

I think that's a too much realistic for Halo. Spartans are not you're regular soldier ... Having said that, I think a more obvious kickback to the rifle could be implemented.

?? Did they change anything? I didn't even know they were going to change split-screen!

They were going to get rid of some things that were less than nessicary so that you could accualy see the game through your hud info

Yeah, I completely forgot to try out split screen after the update. Maybe I'll drag Kristin on if we're playing a custom game tonight to try it out.

I said it a whole bunch last night, but I LOVE the new melee damage. Since I'm a compulsive melee attacker after I run out of ammo (remnants of Halo 1 sticking to me) I love that it actually does something now. And the additions to the Brute shot are really nice. AND I thought ATDT's fists and 'nades game was an absolute blast, as was the brute shots game we played. So far I'm having alot of fun with the new updates, except for the temporary increased lag we were experiencing last night that made Big team battles completely unplayable. Wheee!

Also, I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but I was reading earlier that they plan on eliminating those few jerks ability to just sit on the bomb forever on neutral assault games by removing the sudden death timer on those games, which is good news in that area. More can be read in this article. Alot of it is rehash, but there's some stuff I hadn't heard yet.

Buncha screen-lookers, if you ask me.

But hey, if any of you swing by west central Florida, I have access to a clubhouse movie theater we could set up in.
Is that just a fancy way of saying Tampa?

It's a way of saying Tampa and its general surroundings. I live somewhat north of Tampa now.

One more map discovered! Here's a video of the map.

This one will give me headaches!! It's so freaking dark!! I hope it's not part of matchmaking!

I don;t think it is supposed to be that dark. I'm working on cleaning it up here at the station, but the darkness and compression dropped a lot of color data.

Link in a few minutes.

edit 1 recompressing now. Looks like a covenant ship, which makes me think it should only be as dark as midship. . .

Edit 2: Ok. here it is. Password is "bees" Since I assume this was not obtained with Bungie permission and it is hosted on my personal space keep the link in the community please?

The color is a bit off, but it's close enough for government work. (The color got skewed when I was trying to compensate for the graininess and loss of saturation from pulling up the low luma.)

Man the Brute Shot is great.

Didnt think you would ever hear anyone saying that Very Happy

I've been singing the praises of the brute shot for a while, ever since I first played American Gladiators in Midship. It was an easy weapon to kill with-hit one grenade, and then melee. Now it's even easier, since hitting 2 grenades dead on is much easier than 3 or 4 if you're too far to melee. For room clearance is was pretty good, if used in conjunction with an SMG or something else to finish off survivors. Now it's just more efficient Razz

I would be greatly amused if one of the new maps started you with Sentinel Beams.

I would be too. The only lvl i can think that has a slight chance of is containment. I can't wait for monday once again! Very Happy turf is going to be the best mlg game lvl i can tell.
I think containment will be better then sidewinder could ever have been.

Yep. It was just great. We were 5-1-1. Our opponents said it better on that midship game: "I don't care we got our asses kicked! That game was just a lot of fun!!". One of the best games I've played lately! Very cool guys to play against! If 50% of the people we play against were like those guys, I'd be happy.

bah, missed all that fun... waters, I apparently joined just after you left... first game - zorplex vs all Smile no one knows why, but we think he just wanted the challenge of being able to touch the flag before getting blown to pieces... and he was successful a couple of times... good game Smile

definitely noticed the difference in the melee... wasn't there long enough to really experiment with everything, but I love the melee Razz

and now ... Crying or Very sad for like 3 minutes before I left, I was saying goodbye to everyone... over and over... pleading... and no one said goodbye to me Sad I slinked away after finally giving up... *sniff*
