I've been doing a little checking. This barcode is called a UPC/EAN-128 Extended Code. See here

I am still trying to find something to figure out what numbers it is. Give me some time.... Very Happy

Grr. So far I'm just getting garbage with reading it, but it could be because I've never read barcode data before. ;OP

Attached is the main greywether's pic, only contrasted out to remove grey values.

I'm lost!

I am not following how this "barcode" comes from Greywethers.
Quote:
i ran an overpass filter on it, offset to 500 pixels down

The original images "frontis.jpg" is 658 x 445, so does the 500 pixel offset mean just to look at the right side of the image? The final barcode is the same dimension as the original. Maybe I don't understand what an overpass filter does. I was assuming it was like a bandpass filter, but this doesn't give any results. What graphics program is being used? I am suprised that such distinct verticle lines aren't more obvious in the original, and its a JPEG to boot (Q84 2:2), yet the lines are very sharp.
Confused

No, the offset moves the existing pixels down. It should have said 1500, so they were effectually dragged. The size of the graphic wouldn't have changed because of this. Photoshop 7.0 calls the filter offset.
And again, the offset is vertical, so it wouldn't look at the right side of the graphic.
I'm still playing with it, because it turned up 1111111111111011010011100101011111110100100010000001101111111111111111111111111000000000001000100001100110000000001101010000000100000000000000101000001000000101001000101000000000000000000000000000000001101100110010100001010000000000101010111111111100011001011011101010011100011111111111110000000011011001011011111110110000100110110110000001000000000000000000000011000000000101111111111111100101111110101001111111111111110000010000000000011100100010000111100000000001001111010111010010001001000111110001001101001001111111100101101001111111101010110000111010011100010001000010001110100000000001111110100100001010001010111000000000001111111111110011111100001111 as a read, which obviously decodes to garbage, but i can tweak the image or the first few 1's to come up with something.

As an aside, I was told that the size of the picture factors to 2 x 7 x 47 and 5 x 89, but I'm no good with math. ;o/

Ormus can you break up the binary string into smaller units or append it to the message? Cause it it flowing off the screen!! Laughing
